Apart from manga, cherry blossoms, television soap operas and the traditional tea ceremony, the most important aspect of Japan is its unique and creative cuisine, especially to food lovers. In Japanese culinary culture, every material is best when served fresh, and at its freshest when served raw. Furthermore, Japanese cuisine highly values the combination of the colors, the appearance and the taste of the food placed in front of the diner, making sure the food matches up perfectly with the exquisitely designed serving vessels, many of which come in unique shapes and designs.

This summer holiday, Yin Run Jin Jiang Castle Hotel, located in Anji county, the heart of China’s bamboo country, is rolling out its Japanese Food Festival, serving food aficionados the best that Japanese cuisine can offer. Guests will be presented with delicacies in the quintessential range of colors and sumptuous tastes for which Japan is known, at a venue in the middle of the lush bamboo forest, with the popular Hello Kitty Garden stars all over the world over in attendance.

The hotel was built to maintain the look and feel of magnificent and classic European castles with a warm and elegant interior decor. Of note is that inside the Hello Kitty-themed guest rooms, the bed accessories, slippers and toothbrush sets are all embellished with Hello Kitty patterns. Hello Kitty fans will have found their paradise.

Jin Jiang Oriental’s master bartenders will put on a live cocktail preparation show and guide customers in creating their own delicious and unique cocktail blends.

Xin Yang Jin Jiang Serves Authentic Italian Cuisine

Italy not only boasts some of the world’s most outstanding works of art and fashionable dresswear, but also one of the world’s most delicate and intricate range of cuisines — the various local cuisines that together create what is known as Italian cooking. Recently, Jin Jiang International Hotel Xinyang launched its Italian Food Season, showcasing Italian dishes with rich flavors, from various kinds of Italian salami sausages, each with their own unique taste, to delicious Italian salads. A wide range of Italian soups, stewed oxtail in tomato sauce, meat lasagna as well as drumsticks stewed in black vinegar are also on the menu. The hotel chef selects the freshest ingredients and applies his creative touch and exquisite cooking methods to offer up new experiences of summer dishes with strong Renaissance flavor. RALEIGH, N.C. /PRNewswire/ — Protochips, Inc., (www.protochips.com) today announced the availability Aduro with Edge technology. The revolutionary new Edge technology further increases thermal accuracy and uniformity for in situ heating experiments, while dramatically reducing thermal drift. Edge technology increases the performance of the Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) by allowing scientists to visualize materials at the nano and atomic scale while at accurate and uniform temperatures.

The Aduro system for the TEM includes * TEM single-tilt (ST) or double-tilt (DT) holder: available for most major electron microscopes and accept all Aduro heating and electrical E-chips. The Edge technology provides the unparalleled temperature accuracy, uniformity and low drift by combining the next generation of Aduro semiconductor based thermal sample supports with a redesigned holder in order to fundamentally improve in situ heating and electrical analysis.  By modifying the geometry of the ceramic membrane and enhancing other chip features, Protochips created an extremely uniform and stable heating platform. The second component of the Edge technology advantage is the redesigned TEM holder. From years of experience, customer feedback and an understanding of future market needs, the holder was optimized to improve signal isolation, mechanical stability and electrode contact. The Edge technology reduces total drift displacement of prior generations by over 90% and provides 99.5% temperature uniformity of the imaging area with 95% thermal accuracy.

“We created this technology specifically to bring quantifiable data to in situ microscopy,” said Aduro Product Manager Kyle Watson. “Scientists demand reproducibility to substantiate their research, which is impossible without a uniform temperature across the entire imaging area.”

Protochips is now taking orders for Aduro with Edge. Contact sales@protochips.com for more information.

5 Ways to Craft a Compelling Media Pitch

leave a comment »

NEW YORK, /PRNewswire/ — Generating press coverage can be a challenge for most business owners – big and small. With a flooded media landscape, how can you connect with the journalists who matter in your market and ensure your pitches are being received and actually read?

Logo – http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20110831/NY59180LOGO

Humbert Luna, media strategist at Emerging Insider Communications, understands this unique challenge. In his latest post on PR Newswire’s Small Business PR Toolkit, he offers five strategies on how best to conduct your outreach.

Research. Luna suggests you should start local with your approach in order to determine who you want to pitch and why. Read publications and watch shows that you would want to be featured on and ensure you are compiling a media list that includes all relevant contact information that you’ve uncovered in your research.

Commonality. Try to glean insights on each of the reporters you are researching and include those tidbits in your pitch if applicable. These insights may help you grab the reporter’s attention, which in turn could lead to media coverage.

Why me? When crafting your pitch, keep in mind the reporter that you are addressing and their intended audience. Tailor your message to the specific journalist and lead in with the “why” to demonstrate you understand their outlet and what they cover. This may lead to your pitch standing out amongst the crowd.

To read the two remaining strategies that can enhance your media pitching success, read Luna’s article here:http://bit.ly/1DOZira.

Mundipharma and Economic Intelligence Unit Study Shines the Spotlight on Efficacy and Gaps in Asia’s National Cancer Control Plans

leave a comment »

SINGAPORE /PRNewswire/ — Governments in Asia are finding it to be an increasingly difficult challenge to keep cancer at bay. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) projects that incidence of cancer in the region will rise by approximately 75% between 2008 and 2030, and mortality will increase at a slightly faster rate[1].

The surge of cancer diagnosis in Asia is pushing governments to address the growing challenge through national cancer control plans (NCCPs) and placing increased stress on healthcare systems.

The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), in collaboration with Mundipharma, a pharmaceutical leader in pain management, assessed the extent and efficacy of such plans in the region from both developed and developing countries in a detailed report, Controlling cancer: The state of national cancer control plans in Asia.

The Mundipharma-sponsored EIU study summarized qualitative data collected from 10 Asian countries[2] and examined the nature of the challenge cancer represented to governments and healthcare systems. Several outstanding trends of increasing cancer rates were highlighted:

  • In developed countries, cancer is a leading killer and in developing ones it is catching up at an alarming rate
  • Population ageing, lifestyle choices, environmental pollution and ongoing infectious diseases were the main culprits of increased cancer rates
    • Population ageing: As population ages further, the number of cancer cases doctors face increase
    • Lifestyle choices: A combination of tobacco intake, dietary change and decreased physical activity has raised obesity rates, leading to marked rises in cancer risks
    • Environmental pollution: Air and water pollution in countries with rapidly growing economies are exacting an increased cancer burden
    • Ongoing infectious diseases: High rates of hepatitis in the region help explain widespread incidence of liver cancer in many of the countries, as well as human papillomaviruses being the leading cause of cervical cancer
  • The three countries most successful at fighting cancer are the wealthiest

The report also called out distinct NCCP efforts in each country and outcomes of such programmes, and identified areas governments could direct their attention to in improving cancer control plans.

  • A need for a more holistic approach to cancer care: Besides Australia and Malaysia, most countries in the study fall short in some way to provide comprehensive services across the entire range of cancer control
  • A need to engage more with those outside the healthcare system: Apart from Taiwan and Myanmar, most countries/regions in the study do not engage a wider range of stakeholders into the battle and convince the general population to the idea of modern cancer control

Notably, an examination of palliative care in the region proved to be an area where most countries are unable to properly integrate into their NCCPs. Australia and Malaysia were identified as the only countries involved in the study with substantial palliative care systems. In an earlier report also sponsored by Mundipharma, data highlighted the need to develop more effective pain management practices that will require collaborative efforts from institutional, social and regulatory organisations[3].

Raman Singh, President, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East, and Africa, Mundipharma, commented:Controlling cancer: The state of national cancer control plans in Asia has provided us with a clear dissection of each country’s efforts to address the challenge that cancer poses in the region and plays an excellent guide to enable healthcare sectors with the ability to identify areas of improvement. At Mundipharma, we strongly advocate the importance and availability of pain management as part of palliative care and we consider it to be our responsibility to ensure that patients get the best possible opportunity to treat pain effectively.”

Mundipharma continues to invest in stakeholder education through diverse informational programs, including their regional Pain Forums, PainFocus website, an educational online portal for healthcare professionals and patients, as well as their Pain Assessment via Pain Scale initiatives such as Pain Stethoscope.

Product Differentiation Crucial to Tap North American Hosted IP Telephony and UCC Services MarketProduct Differentiation Crucial to Tap North American Hosted IP Telephony and UCC Services Market

leave a comment »

— Mergers and acquisitions are redistributing power as the market enters mass-adoption stage, finds Frost & Sullivan

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., /PRNewswire/ — The North American hosted Internet Protocol (IP) telephony and unified communications and collaboration (UCC) services market is undergoing major changes as it transitions from the early-adopter to mass-adoption stage. Growth rates are accelerating due to an increase in customer awareness of cloud communications benefits. Greater scrutiny of service quality and reliability is compelling providers to differentiate through innovative features and to scout for mergers and acquisitions in order to gain efficiencies and achieve economies of scale.

New analysis from Frost & Sullivan, Analysis of the North American Hosted IP Telephony and UCC Services Market (https://www.frost.com/nf14), finds that the market reached 8 million installed users in 2014 and estimates this to reach 41.9 million installed users by 2021.

For complimentary access to more information on this research, please visit: http://bit.ly/1SMVQ75

Small and medium businesses (SMBs) will account for the majority of installed users and a considerable portion of new users for these flexible, economical outsourced communications solutions. Larger distributed organizations looking to consolidate communications infrastructure, optimize IT operations, and cost-efficiently manage remote and mobile worker communications will follow suit, contributing to a growing percentage of users.

“Budget and resource constraints, as well as the appeal of faster access to advanced features, and the ability to supplement limited in-house IT staff, are lending momentum to hosted services among SMBs,” said Frost & Sullivan Unified Communications & Collaboration Program Director Elka Popova. “Among larger distributed organizations, concerted service provider efforts, in addition to maturing technologies and business models, will drive adoption.”

Rapid penetration of hosted services among larger businesses, which require more advanced features and typically engage for a longer term, will help propel profitability in the North American IP telephony and UCC services space. The market will receive an additional boost as vendors with a differentiated value proposition target new customer segments.

Despite this large-scale shift to the cloud, control and security will remain key customer concerns. Apprehensions surrounding reliability, customization, and integration often tip the scales in favor of premises-based deployments. Furthermore, new business models in the premises-based solutions domain, including subscription-based pricing and fully managed solutions, entice customers to retain or upgrade existing on-premises investments rather than opt for hosted solutions.

“Going beyond features and functionality, service providers must offer strong customer onboarding, consistent support, a balanced mix of automated sales and consultation, as well as efficient service provisioning and upgrades,” urged Frost & Sullivan Unified Communications & Collaboration Program Manager Robert Arnold. “With entrants vying for market share and many participants joining forces through mergers and acquisitions, vendors must align their growth objectives with market needs, portfolio capabilities, and marketing approaches to carve their place in the still-untapped North American market.”

Analysis of the North American Hosted IP Telephony and UCC Services Market is part of the Enterprise Communications (http://www.enterprisecommunications.frost.com) Growth Partnership Service program. Frost & Sullivan’s related studies include: Global Enterprise Communications Platforms and Endpoints Market, Partner Growth Opportunities in the Evolving UC Market, and Regional Growth Opportunities for Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Phones. All studies included in subscriptions provide detailed market opportunities and industry trends evaluated following extensive interviews with market participants.

RS Logo
RS Logo

In total, RS has selected 24 motors covering a range of sizes, output speeds, supply voltages and output torque. All feature Faulhaber’s patented skew-wound rotor technology, which ensures high torque in relation to motor size and weight, high efficiency, smooth rotor positioning with no cogging, low torque ripple, and high linearity and sensitivity. The rotor also has low inertia, which allows fast dynamic response in applications that involve frequent starting and stopping.

The portfolio includes 12 brushed DC micromotors, selected from Faulhaber’s CXR series with graphite brushes for high power capability and long lifetime, the SR series with built-in high-resolution encoder and precious-metal commutation giving low contact resistance, and the SR-Flat series for highly space-constrained applications. The selection includes 6V, 12V and 24V motors, torque from 0.35mNm to 40mNm, and shaft diameters of 1.5mm, 2mm, 3mm or 4mm.

In addition, RS has selected five brushless motors that are ideal for heavy-duty servo applications with frequent overload conditions as well as for continuous duty applications, thanks to their slot-less design and high-inertia rotor. These include four 4-pole motors, which provide the benefit of high torque and robust construction capable of withstanding high shock and vibration, and an ultra-flat 12V 7000rpm motor with built-in speed controller.

A further seven brushed motors with integrated spur-type or planetary gear head further extend the options available, offering increased torque and output speeds of a few hundred rpm or as low as 4rpm.

The SC1801-3530 speed controller for brushless motors, and its associated programming board, complete the Faulhaber range currently available at RS. The compact controller, with convenient screw-type terminal strips for motor and power supply, has flexible interfacing options that allow use in applications such as distributed automation systems, handling and tooling devices, or pumps.

SINGAPORE /PRNewswire/ — The American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (AmCham) celebrates Singapore’s 50th anniversary today by launching a commemorative report, Reflections: Perspectives from the American Business Community. Reflections describes AmCham members’ contributions to the development of Singapore and presents their insights on the business outlook for the coming decade. Based on interviews with senior executives and a special SG50 membership survey, the report highlights the American business community’s commitment to Singapore and optimism about their future here.

“The thousands of American companies operating in Singapore employ tens of thousands of Singaporeans,” stated AmCham Executive Director Judith Fergin. “Significant numbers of Singaporeans occupy senior positions in member companies’ operations in Singapore and abroad. Reflections documents that AmCham members expect their Singapore workforce to grow in line with their rising investment.”

The United States is Singapore’s largest source of foreign direct investment with over US$154 billion invested. The first wave of American companies arrived in Singapore more than 100 years ago; the favorable business climate has supported growth in the number of American companies and amount of investment to today’s significant levels. Survey respondents cite the ease of conducting business, stable political environment, and sound infrastructure as the top three advantages of investing in Singapore.

Over 60 percent of survey respondents expect their company’s investment here to grow over the next ten years. Over 70 percent of respondent companies have made Singapore their regional headquarters and still more useSingapore as a regional hub for at least some of the their business line. Many of those that have not already located headquarters here anticipate that their company will move their regional offices to Singapore by 2025.

While respondents and interviewees are overwhelmingly positive about Singapore’s future, they pointed to cost and labor availability as potential brakes on growth.

“Ultimately, it is value that matters to companies. A highly productive employee is a great investment in competitiveness,” said Fergin. “Everyone companies, employees, and the government needs to work together to ensure that we can continue to create that value.”

She added, “Many American investments in Singapore are intellectual property-intensive, high technology-generating, and customer service-centric. We want to work with Singapore’s government and educational institutions to help ensure that the workforce’s knowledge and skills match anticipated demand.”
