Corporate Video Sharing Applications Fuel Enterprise Video Communications Market Growth

leave a comment »

OYSTER BAY, New York/PRNewswire/ — With video communications’ ability to enhance collaboration, improve information retention, and increase productivity, ABI Research finds that corporate video management, sharing, and personalized marketing video applications show significant potential in the global enterprise video communications market. The enterprise video training and education market will continue to grow at a nearly 10% CAGR while video marketing systems will exceed a 20% CAGR.

“As organizations aim to integrate multiple video-focused systems under common management frameworks and onto common IT systems, suppliers struggle to integrate historically varied functional constraints into a common platform,” says Sam Rosen, Managing Director and Vice President. “Enterprise YouTube systems must be strong enough to meet privacy and records retention policies while effectively servicing internal training video, marketing systems, and employee communication functions. New smartphone use cases and robust network capacities will drive future market consumption.”

Notable market competitors in the enterprise YouTube market segment include Kaltura, Media Platform, and Sonic Foundry. Larger companies, such as IBM and Microsoft, are also developing more comprehensive solutions, and this market may be integrated into broader UCS platforms, such as those by Cisco and Microsoft.

“Amazon’s entry into the web conferencing market with Chime is weak, but should not be taken out of context,” concludes Rosen. “Amazon has a portfolio of enterprise video products that work best in conjunction with Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) cloud services, such as the Amazon Elastic Transcoder. Amazon’s Chime is likely to precede other components that form a comprehensive enterprise communications portfolio. As all companies expand their offerings within the enterprise communications market, there will be room for suppliers to engage in greater value-added discussions.”

These findings are from ABI Research’s Enterprise Video Platforms ( report.

AmCham Calls for a More Inclusive and Diverse Workplace Environment

leave a comment »

HONG KONG /PRNewswire/ — The American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (“AmCham”) calls on the HKSAR Government to take a proactive role in incentivizing workplace diversity and promoting inclusion measures that exceed mere compliance, specifically toward the LGBT+ community, to enhance Hong Kong’s competitive edge in the global talent hunt towards a smart economy.

“Diversity and innovation form an inseparable pair. We see growing awareness in the business community, particularly in the financial services field, on workplace diversity because they see the benefits of attracting creative talents for innovating their businesses. The government needs to emphasize the strong business case for Hong Kong to look into practical options to promote workplace inclusivity, and eliminate discrimination in a socially sensible manner,” said Chairman Walter Dias.

“The drop of expatriates from the U.S., Britain and Australia by nearly 10% (2015) is an alarming signal for the city to reconsider its talent strategies,” Dias added.

The Chamber submitted its views on specific actions to sustain Hong Kong’s ability to attract global talents:

— Expand the work visa program to allow companies to recruit and retain top global talents in the early years of work

— Promote workplace diversity to cultivate an environment of work favorable to creative talents to drive innovative growth

Promote workplace inclusivity and enhance public education to eliminate discrimination against ethnic minorities and LGBT

Update Hong Kong’s employment law to incorporate international standards and common practices to increase Hong Kong’s competitiveness

Recognize foreign, legally registered same-sex and domestic partnerships and marriages in order to attract foreign talent

Currently, most companies have some form of LGBT inclusion strategy in place in Hong Kong, and many have taken proactive steps to promote LGBT inclusion in the broader community. However, there is a stark deficiency of diversity training programs. According to the Hong Kong LGBT Workplace Inclusion Index 2015, many companies provide diversity training, however only a few companies have comprehensive LGBT-specific training or an LGBT employee network specifically for Hong Kong. Many companies additionally extend certain leave policies, aid with relocation, and assist with applying for prolonged visitor visas for domestic partners.

Hong Kong needs a supportive legislature, enhanced education, and increased promotion to facilitate diversity and inclusion measures in order for it to maintain its status as a competitive hub. Proactive efforts are required to demonstrate a strong commitment to attracting the best and brightest here to work. Efforts could include supporting companies to provide customized planning services for LGBT families, assistance with necessary legal procedures, and comprehensive benefits packages to bring in the right talents that match business needs.

New Frost & Sullivan White Paper Shows How Thousands More Americans Can Access the Benefits of Robotic Assisted Knee Replacement

leave a comment »

-Thanks to innovative technology and a business model that lowers costs, robotic assisted arthroplasty is expected to grow rapidly in the next decade

SANTA CLARA, California /PRNewswire/ — Less than 5 percent of all total knee replacement operations performed last year in the United States were robotically-assisted, despite evidence suggesting these patients have better long-term outcomes compared to conventional surgery. The high capital costs that hospitals must absorb for acquiring and maintaining the systems are a major reason why so few patients have access to the benefits of the technology.

New Frost & Sullivan white paper titled Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) ROI Model – Comparative Analysis of Robot Assisted Versus Conventional Surgical Technique presents evidence that hospitals may be able to provide greater access to robotic assisted surgery without a massive capital expense by using a proven robotic assisted surgical system designed to make the technology more affordable – OMNIBotics®. The white paper will be released at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) Annual Meeting.

Click here to download the white paper, visit:

With robotic assisted surgical systems already able to show faster rehabilitation times and an improved quality of care, the business model of OMNIBotics® is expected to help make robotic assisted arthroplasty the standard of care in the coming years.

As part of its research, Frost & Sullivan compared both hard and soft costs associated with conventional arthroplasty to costs using OMNIBotics® and another major robotic assisted surgery system. The OMNIBotics® model requires no capital investment from hospitals, rather adopting a fee-per-procedure model which encourages adoption. When compared to traditional arthroplasty, the superior results demonstrated in surgeries using the system translated into thousands of dollars in savings for each patient thanks to shorter sub-acute care stays and lower hospital readmission rates. These savings will be critical as providers adapt to bundled payment programs such as the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) model launched by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS.)

“When we compared costs for capital acquisition, the surgery itself and 90 days post-surgery, OMNIBotics® proved to generate the largest savings while allowing patients to return to full use of their knee the fastest,” said Patrick Riley, Senior Analyst for Advanced Medical Technology at Frost & Sullivan. “Clinicians we interviewed reported their patients undergoing surgery with OMNIBotics® were returning to full activity within three to four weeks instead of the ten to twelve most patients experience with conventional knee arthroplasty.”

Frost & Sullivan’s white paper is intended to serve as a road map for hospital leaders in how they may be able to meet CJR mandates while at the same time adopting the latest surgical technologies and lowering costs all at the same time. The company believes the value proposition of technologies like OMNIBotics® will grow as providers seek new ways to improve the quality of care under bundled payment programs.
