Bond No 9. Soho

leave a comment »

-New York’s most singular, most unique neighborhood finally gets its own longlasting, stunning scent: Introducing Bond No. 9 Soho.
NEW YORK /PRNewswire/ — New York’s Soho has led multiple lives: colonial farmland … chic residential enclave … rowdy theatre and tavern terrain … the architecturally important light manufacturing zone known as the Cast Iron District … artists’ loft territory. And today? Today it’s morphed yet again—into luxury shopping turf, with every major designer ensconced in those characteristic, cavernous cast iron spaces. And by evening, still another transformation, into a quiet, stroll-able neighborhood. Yet no matter how it’s redefined itself, Soho has retained a durably distinct identity, separate even from the rest of hip-and-cool Downtown. Attracting locals and visitors alike, Soho has its own longlasting sillage, as we perfumers call it, blending high-end and edgy style.

Experience the interactive Multimedia News Release here: http://www.multivu.com/players/English/7873051-bond-no-9-soho/

So of course New York-centric Bond No. 9 had no choice but to create a gender-free, fascinatingly distinctive, sillage-rich Soho scent. Its centerpiece, new to our repertory, is savory, exuberant orange flower, hinted at by a fascinating trio of topnotes: sweet orange, lemony-green petitgrain, and syrupy cassis absolute. Jasmine and orris, orange flower’s heart-note cohorts, add sensuality. And then come the lingering basenotes: amber, musk, cedarwood, and—most intriguing of all—velvety oakmoss, always a beautiful compliment to orange flower.

The Soho superstar bottle, with its mesmerizing black and white whirlpool swirls, is a stunning, high-energy visualization of the scent inside, but with an extra-added surprise: a removable matching elliptical hat, complete with swirls, perched smartly atop the cap.

Bond No. 9 Soho will be on counter in the U.S. on September 15, and worldwide October 1.

Price: 100ml, $335; 50ml, $260

leave a comment »

HONG KONG and DHAKA, Bangladesh /PRNewswire/ —

Future Will Call the Past for a Better Present

The sixth edition of Denimsandjeans.com Bangladesh is going to be held on October 5-6 at Hotel Radisson, Dhaka with the theme – VINTAGE RECALL, Denim Goes Back To Its Roots. This semiannual denim show provides a platform where the global denim community comes together with an objective to share, interact and to establish future transactions with this very important supplier nation Bangladesh.

There is a strong trend of digging into the past and looking for denim characteristics which the jeans had in the early 1900s – the color, the slubs, the weave, the looks. The current production of denim involves high technology in spinning, weaving and finishing and the industry works on possibilities of giving the vintage character on the outside while using the high technology inside the fabric. VINTAGE RECALL celebrates this aspect of the denim trend direction.

Not limiting itself to an exhibition format; the event has many activities running on the sidelines. The show this time will have couple of seminars by international denim experts and veterans where they will share their ideas on the different prospects of denim. The show is Invite-only with invitations available here http://www.bdshow.denimsandjeans.com/invite.php

By 2020, it is expected that global market size of denim industries will be over USD 78 billion out of which more than 70% could come from Asia. Bangladesh has a huge potential in the textile, especially in denim and is already the top supplier of denim products to EU with exports over $1.1 billion.

“Our objective has been always to show the world the immense opportunity in Bangladesh through our denim shows,” said Mr Sandeep Agarwal, Founder of Denimsandjeans.com Bangladesh.

Denimsandjeans.com also holds shows in Vietnam and the 2nd edition of this show will be held on March 8-9, 2017 at HCMC with the first edition held in June this year. The site also brings buyers and suppliers together at one place through the first Global Online Denim Show launched recently.

Commercial and Industrial Property Insurer FM Global Breaks Ground on S$80-Million Unique Loss Prevention Training and Operations Center in Singapore

leave a comment »

– The project represents FM Global’s deep commitment to Asia and support of its clients as they expand their business operations throughout the region.

– The 125,000-square-foot (11,610-square-meter) building will feature the FM Global Asia SimZone, offering hands-on education to clients, partners, industry and government officials in Asia.

SINGAPORE /PRNewswire/ — FM Global, one of the world’s largest commercial and industrial property insurers, today broke ground on the construction of a new loss prevention training and operations center, located in the Singapore Science Park, a research, development and technology hub in Singapore. A groundbreaking ceremony marked the start of the construction phase for the six-story, 125,000-square-foot (11,610-square-meter) facility that will house the FM Global Asia SimZone, the company’s first hands-on training facility in Asia, and the first of its kind on the continent. The S$80-million building will be constructed by Ascendas-Singbridge, Asia’s leading provider of business space solutions, and is expected to be operational in early 2019.

This S$80-million, 125,000-square-foot (11,610-square-meter), six-story building will feature the FM Global Asia SimZone, offering hands-on education to clients, partners, industry and government officials in Asia.
This S$80-million, 125,000-square-foot (11,610-square-meter), six-story building will feature the FM Global Asia SimZone, offering hands-on education to clients, partners, industry and government officials in Asia.
“Over the course of FM Global’s 35 years of operating in Asia, we have seen that companies in the region are very interested in increasing their resilience to risk, thereby enhancing their ability to maintain positive business performance when disaster strikes,” said FM Global’s president and chief executive officer, Thomas Lawson. “The new center will house an array of one-of-a-kind learning facilities to provide experiential loss prevention education, at no cost, to our policyholders as well as to building designers, contractors, students, educational institutes, insurance brokers and government officials. The facility will leverage our nearly two centuries of loss prevention engineering and client experience and expand our insurance and engineering operations in Singapore into full-fledged education,” added Lawson.

A key focus of FM Global’s business will continue to be helping companies become more resilient by providing them with a better understanding of the property hazards that can affect their business continuity and delivering the best loss prevention advice based on scientific research and engineering, rather than solely relying on insurance for protection. The center aims to extend these services with training facilities that help the business community on the continent thrive by increasing their appreciation for resilience and knowledge of how to effectively reduce their property risk exposure.

Interactive laboratories and learning areas will allow the safe simulation of property risks, such as natural hazards, fire, ignitable liquid, construction, electrical hazards and industrial equipment malfunction, in a protected environment to help visitors better understand how local hazards can be mitigated.

“Singapore is a natural home because the company shares a like-minded belief with the Singapore government on the value of resilience,” said Stefano Tranquillo, senior vice president of FM Global’s Asia-Pacific division.

“Asia also is a region with frequent and severe natural hazards, such as windstorms, floods and earthquakes, and given that sound loss prevention practices in this part of the world are hard to come by, businesses are not always operating at the highest possible standards of risk management. As such, we are looking forward to forging mutually beneficial collaborations, including partnerships with institutes and governments through the establishment of this center, which will ultimately benefit Asia and its trading partners across the globe,” said Tranquillo.

FM Global has established partnerships with educational, technical and governmental organizations around the world, including the Institute of Catastrophe Risk Management, which serves as a trusted advisor to Singapore and other governments in the region. As a result, local businesses stand to benefit directly from FM Global’s physical presence in the region and from the opportunities the company’s working relationships in Asia provide.

“Our heartiest congratulations to FM Global on this momentous milestone,” said Mr. Manohar Khiatani, Deputy Group CEO of Ascendas-Singbridge. “We are delighted that FM Global has chosen Singapore Science Park as home for their Asia hub. As one of Asia’s most prestigious addresses for R&D and technology, with a thriving ecosystem of businesses, academia and researchers, we are confident that Science Park is well placed for providing the company’s needs.”

About FM Global
Established nearly 200 years ago, FM Global is a mutual insurance company whose capital, scientific research capability and engineering expertise are solely dedicated to property risk management and the resilience of its client-owners. These owners, who share the belief that the majority of property loss is preventable, represent many of the world’s largest organizations, including one of every three Fortune 1000 companies. They work with FM Global to better understand the hazards that can impact their business continuity in order to make cost-effective risk management decisions, combining property loss prevention with insurance protection.

ABI Research Finds the Future of BLE Beacon Shipments is Not in Retail

leave a comment »

LONDON /PRNewswire/ — Though beacon retail technology is grabbing headlines, the future of BLE beacon shipments is not in retail. ABI Research forecasts the amount of BLE beacon shipments made in the personal tracking, IoT, and real-time location system (RTLS)/asset tracking markets will easily surpass those in retail. The overall BLE beacon market continues to grow rapidly with shipments set to break 500 million units by 2021.

Logo – http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20151014/276887LOGO

“While retail is forecast to remain a major market today for BLE beacons, we are increasingly seeing shipments into these new markets,” says Patrick Connolly, Principal Analyst at ABI Research. “Personal tracking is now the largest individual market of the group, with market leader Tile shipping over six million BLE beacons alone. In RTLS/asset tracking, a range of new, high-accuracy BLE beacon technologies, designed specifically for this market, will offer a significant cost improvement on traditional technologies.”

In the IoT space, ABI Research expects to see BLE combined with LPWAN technologies to support large scale deployments in smart cities. Another emerging trend is the shift to software-based beacons, in which vendors leverage integrated BLE ICs as beacons and virtual beacons; these will be major drivers across a range of markets.

“The retail market continues to be the big money generator in terms of overall revenue,” concludes Connolly. “Google Nearby, a new feature that automatically alerts people when an app is available for a nearby store that is relevant to their shopping preferences, did not receive the fanfare it deserved and could be a major game changer for the market. However, the RTLS/asset tracking market may be a much better bet for hardware vendors, where the potential is huge and the revenue is tied up in hardware and software rather than services and advertising.”

While the competitive landscape largely remains the same, with the major BLE beacon vendors continuing to dominate, Sensoro recently broke the 300,000 BLE beacon shipment milestone and looks well-positioned to become a top three vendor. But of real interest are the start-ups developing proprietary solutions to meet specific market needs in terms of accuracy and cost. Many are only just coming out of the beta stage, but ABI Research expects to hear a lot more about them, and perhaps some acquisition activity, over the next 12 months.

These findings are from ABI Research’s BLE Beacon Technologies, Applications and Revenues (https://www.abiresearch.com/market-research/product/1022881-ble-beacon-technologies-applications-and-r/). This report is part of the company’s Beacons, Indoor Analytics & Location (https://www.abiresearch.com/market-research/practice/beacons-indoor-analytics-and-location/), Enterprise IT & OT Convergence (https://www.abiresearch.com/market-research/practice/future-enterprise-it-and-ot-convergence/), Semiconductors (https://www.abiresearch.com/market-research/practice/semiconductors/), and Transformative Technology (https://www.abiresearch.com/market-research/practice/transformative-technology/) sectors, which include research, data, and analyst insights.

leave a comment »

HONG KONG /PRNewswire/ — From 22 — 24 September at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, the Spring / Summer edition of Fashion Access will be taking place. APLF is the event organiser of Fashion Access and Cashmere World.

Fashion Access — Asia’s leading fashion accessories trade show
Fashion Access — Asia’s leading fashion accessories trade show
The new fair dates have placed Fashion Access nearer its sister event, the UBM’s Asia’s Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Fair – September also held in Hong Kong which helps complement the theme of Head-to-toe fashion by bringing fashion jewellery into the mix of fashion accessories for interested buyers.

Fashion Access was established more than 30 years ago in 1984 and its long-term reputation and credibility have ensured that it remains the leading fashion accessories fair in Asia. It is held concurrently with Cashmere World, so as to provide buyers and designers with access to “Head-to-Toe” fashion.

Fashion accessories ranging from bags, footwear, small leathergoods, garments, materials components and cashmere and fine fibre finished goods are all to be found in one place. The price range is for mid-range fashion items and hence appeals to a broader public and the professional buyers such as wholesalers and distributors that serve them.

The fair operates on more than one level – buyers can source for mid to upper range branded fashion goods directly from exhibitors but there is also an extra dimension. This lies in the fact that there are more than 200 exhibitors that offer original equipment and original design sub-contracted fashion manufacturing services for designers, boutiques and department stores that wish to develop their own collections.

The Spring / Summer edition is of special interest to buyers sourcing footwear as a group of leading Brazilian manufacturers will be present displaying their style and design flair that is peculiar to Brazilian women’s footwear.

These Brazilian exhibitors include:

Taiwan will also be making an appearance at this September’s Fashion Access fair. There are two footwear manufacturers participating – Trivict Co. and its sister company Bussola. Both companies were founded almost 40 years ago and have developed a reputation for superb design and craftsmanship.

Trivict started its activities as an OEM manufacturer back in 1978 and has now moved up the scale to design two collections a year for its customers. The design team at Trivict has great influence from the centre of design excellence Italy but has always made its top priority comfort and has Italian technicians on site to supervise quality and control.

Bussola’s collections range from traditional lace-up leather shoes through slip-ons for casual wear to Roman type sandals for the fashion conscious woman around town. There is also a wide selection of half boots and yet more sandals that are designed and made to be worn either with skirts or trendier jean style living.

Quality and comfort are just as important for Bussola as they are for Trivict.
