For more in-depth quality control procedures, users can add single-point measurements with the new HandyPROBE Next portable CMM, which, along with the MetraSCAN 3D, is compatible with VXinspect, Creaform’s dimensional inspection software.

Creaform’s quality control solutions will be showcased at CONTROL 2016, Germany, in hall 5, stand 5108, April 26–29.

Ipreo Conducts Successful Test of “IssueLaunch” in Asia

leave a comment »

-Leading investment banks and buy-side firms embrace new-issue publishing platform

HONG KONG and LONDON and NEW YORK /PRNewswire/ — Ipreo, a leading global financial services technology and data provider, announced another successful test of its IssueLaunch platform, which enables sell-side banks to publish deals to the buy side. Nine of the Asia’s leading investment banks and nine buy-side firms participated in the latest test in February.

The Asia test follows on the heels of the successful testing and roll out of IssueLaunch in Europe in the fourth quarter of last year.  Since the roll out, more than 150 live deals have been announced over IssueLaunch.  Fifteen banks have been participating in testing, and nearly 40 buy-side firms are regularly receiving live deals over the platform.

The IssueLaunch platform publishes new-issue terms and conditions in a secure manner to buy-side investors who can view this information in the Ipreo DealMonitor application or programmatically consume the data via the Ipreo DealServices API. It can be used as a standalone application, but is also a core component of Ipreo’s Investor Access platform, which allows buy-side investors to electronically submit Indications of Interest (IOIs) on fixed-income deals directly to the syndicate book. Investor Access is being developed in partnership with eleven banks.

IssueLaunch and Investor Access build on the foundation of IssueNet, Ipreo’s syndicate-to-syndicate communications network that enables banks to synchronize order books between members of the deal’s syndicate and streamline the deal management process between banks. Currently 111 banks are members of IssueNet.

The integrated Investor Access platform will go live later this year and provides an end-to-end deal communication solution, allowing the buy-side clients of sponsoring banks to be alerted to new-issue announcements, receive deal structured information on their terms and conditions, view deal-related documents, submit and manage their IOIs, and receive electronic notification of allocation and pricing.

Benjamin Lamberg, Head of Asian Syndicates at Credit Agricole CIB, who participated in testing, commented, “The wider acceptance of IssueNet over the last few years with Asian underwriters did facilitate greatly the development of a cross-border market and build bridges between Europe and Asia.”

Romain Beillard, also with Asia Syndicate at Credit Agricole CIB, added, “The release of IssueLaunch has provided a level of consistency and transparency that was needed in the execution of corporate deals, and Asian investors have shown a warm welcome to this initiative.”

Hublot Loves New York!

NEW YORK /PRNewswire/ —

Luxury Swiss brand celebrates Grand Opening of new, global flagship store on Iconic Fifth Avenue!

Today, luxury Swiss watch brand Hublot celebrated its love of New York City by hosting a series of events throughout Manhattan, with plenty of surprises in true Hublot fashion! Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot, descended upon NYC to host a number of celebrations in honor of several exciting Hublot milestones.

Crowds gathered by the crossroads of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street early this afternoon, as Hublot fêted the opening of its New York City Flagship location in the heart of the city with a unique, unprecedented take on a ribbon cutting ceremony. Ricardo together with Brand Ambassadors Usain Bolt and living legend (and soccer god) Peléhosted the ribbon cutting ceremony outside of the boutique before inviting guests to experience the World of Hublot inside. As the gentlemen gathered in front of the boutique, eyes were directed skywards as a duo of Bandaloop dancers descended from the rooftop and danced across the incredible façade until they reached the ground to present Usain Bolt with his newest Limited Edition Watch, just in time for the upcoming Olympic Games.

The new space at 743 Fifth Avenue (between 57th and 58th streets in the center of Manhattan) is the latest in the long collaboration between Peter Marino Architect and Hublot. The boutique’s design exhibits the brand’s DNA of luxury and innovation combined with its Art of Fusion concept of unexpected combinations. The new dramatic façade, lit with LEDs and faceted with powder coated black aluminum panels to evoke the straps of a timepiece, rises 70 feet (21m) above Fifth Avenue and is the brand’s tallest in the world. The boutique’s décor reflects Hublot’s use of unique materials, which maintains a prominent role in the brand’s watchmaking design. The 1500 square feet (139m2) interior conveys a contemporary style, with black lava stone and wood floors, graphite-colored leather furnishings, glass and polished stainless steel fixtures, and high-tech innovations including “shadow-less” LCD vitrine windows, sophisticated yet unobtrusive lighting, a wall of monitors, and a “book” with virtual turning “pages”, each showing a part of Hublot’s history, in the main window on Fifth Avenue. The space reveals a fusion between premium materials and a luxurious yet modern aesthetic.

The Search is on for Inspirational Global Citizens

leave a comment »

LONDON /PRNewswire/ —

Henley & Partners is looking for individuals who have made an extraordinary contribution towards improving the global community and creating a more understanding, more tolerant world. Nominations for the prestigious annual Global Citizen Award have now opened and the 2016 laureate will be honored at a gala fundraising dinner for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in London on 11 November. As global leaders in residence and citizenship planning, Henley & Partners has joined forces with the UNHCR to assist with the registration and documentation of those at the other end of the global mobility spectrum.

(Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20160122/324963LOGO )

The annual laureate is chosen by an Award Committee, an independent body of seven distinguished individuals including:

  • Her Royal Highness Princess Firyal of Jordan
  • Her Excellency Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, President of the Republic of Malta
  • Senator Joëlle Garriaud-Maylam, Secretary of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces, Senate of France, Paris
  • Professor Dr. Khalid Koser OBE, Executive Director of GCERF and Vice-Chairman of the Advisory Council on Migration, World Economic Forum, Geneva
  • Leigh Foster, Chief of Events, Campaigns and Goodwill Ambassadors, UNHCR, Geneva
  • Dr. Marek Urban CSsR, Councilor of the Henley & Partners Foundation, Kraków
  • Namira Salim, Global Explorer and Artist, Monaco

Leigh Foster of the UNHCR says the committee is looking for inspirational individuals who demonstrate extraordinary vision, courage and commitment. “Ideally we want to honor those whose work is innovative and visionary.  A candidate’s work should also have a positive impact on the lives of the most vulnerable in society,” explains Foster.

The selection process is confidential and made by a majority decision. The award itself consists of a specially made commemorative medal, an Award Certificate signed by the President of the Award Committee and a USD 50,000monetary prize, of which USD 25,000 is donated to UNHCR.

Christian H. Kalin, a leading international immigration and citizenship law specialist and Group Chairman of Henley & Partners, says the registration of refugees is the first critical step towards ensuring their protection. “More than 60 million people worldwide are currently displaced as a result of persecution, conflict, generalized violence and human rights violations. Registering refugees and providing them with an identity document is the first critical step towards ensuring they get the assistance and protection they need, dramatically improving their chances of survival. Without documentation papers, uprooted people lose their identity and are unable to access the fundamental UNHCR services necessary to take control of their lives again and begin the process of tracing their families,” explains Kalin.

Last year, the Global Citizen Award was presented to German entrepreneur Harald Höppner who founded the refugee aid project Sea Watch. The non-profit organization has rescued thousands of refugees from capsized boats during their patrols of the Mediterranean Sea. “Over the past fifteen years, more than 23,000 people have died trying to reach Europe’s shores. Our teams of highly professional, motivated and dedicated volunteers have already saved hundreds of lives. We recently started working between Lesbos, a small Aegean Greek island, and the Turkish mainland to prevent further deaths in this part of the Mediterranean Sea, which recorded the highest number of drowned refugees last year,” says Höppner.

To submit nominations for the 2016 Global Citizen Award, please visit https://www.henleyglobal.com/the-global-citizen-award/. Nominations close on 1 July 2016.

“The main core of the idea is to give the opportunity to everyone, of any part of the world, to think about the problems our society is facing in terms of the preservation of the Planet, and to also think about a solution. At the end of the day, DDB’s global creative council will choose the winning idea and will make a promise to promote the program within the organization, as a commitment of DDB towards preserving the planet.

The campaign will consist of a website (www.earthdayddb.com), featuring a video manifesto to create awareness and invite people to contribute to the cause. The website will also include a social stream capturing shared inspirational ideas across DDB’s channels and the social media landscape at large. The HandyPROBE Next features productivity and efficiency enhancements in a more shop-floor-ready design for unprecedentedly accurate part inspections—wherever they need to be performed. Quality control experts who rely on portable tools to validate the dimensional conformity of production tools, jigs, assemblies, sub-assemblies and final products on the shop floor can look forward to:

Trending: Private Equity Compensation Up in Asia; Succession Planning Lacking

leave a comment »

-Heidrick & Struggles’ Private Equity Compensation Survey Released

HONG KONG /PRNewswire/ — Heidrick & Struggles (NASDAQ: HSII), the premier provider ofexecutive search, leadership consulting and culture shaping, today revealed the findings of its Private Equity APAC Compensation Survey 2015/2016.

Photo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20160418/356793

Logo – http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20140822/139029

Key trends and findings of the PE compensation study:

  • Regional funds now solidly offer compensation on par with global fund platforms, allowing them to compete head-on for talent.
  • The number and size of control transactions continues to grow, fueling an increased focus on value creation and the recruitment of operating professionals.
  • Compensation is rising across the board, as it has in our 2015 and 2014 surveys, with growth most pronounced in junior execution professionals.
  • There has been sustained growth in new fund initiatives as existing platforms broaden their offerings and new players enter the market with niche strategies. Key growth areas include credit & special situations, real assets, technology and early-stage investing.

Increasing and broadening demand from well-funded Limited Partners is attracting investment professionals from General Partners as these firms grow their exposure to direct private equity.

According to Asian Venture Capital Journal, private equity investment in the region topped US$139 billion in 2015, a record total and up more than 50 percent from US$92.5 billion in 2014.

Asia Pacific’s private equity is maturing at a rapid pace and the market for top talent is highly competitive. We are seeing sustained demand for experienced talent across different types of investment, especially those who excel at value creation, and are equipped with strong financial knowledge and experience in company-wide operations,” saidFrazer Wilson, Managing Partner of Heidrick & Struggles’ Financial Services Practice, Asia Pacific.

“Another important finding this year is that succession planning within the PE sector in Asia is lacking.  In many cases there just isn’t a clear leadership pipeline for top executives,” said Michael Di Cicco, Heidrick & Struggles Partner and Head of the Private Equity and Real Estate practices in Asia Pacific.

More than half of all Partners and Managing Directors surveyed said their funds do not have a succession plan in place for the leaders of their Asia fund platforms. The responses were similar for global funds with offices in Asiaand regional funds whose headquarters are in the region. “Private equity is a long-term business and generational change is a risk that funds need to address,” said Di Cicco said.

In December of 2015, Heidrick & Struggles surveyed more than 200 executive leaders within the PE sector. As part of the survey, the firm collected data on compensation levels from 2013 to 2015, and recorded the expectations of respondents for 2016 bonuses and base salaries.

This is the third year in a row that Heidrick & Struggles conducted the APAC PE compensation survey.
