leave a comment »

-Partnership with ASN LTD. to Span TV, Web and Mobile

HONG KONG  /PRNewswire/ — Time Inc. (NYSE:TIME) today announced a wide-ranging partnership with ASN Ltd. to develop a Sports Illustrated sports broadcasting and digital network across Asia. The new alliance will rebrand the Hong Kong-based, Pan-Asian ASN and ASN2 pay TV sports channels, companion websites and mobile apps to “Sports Illustrated/Sports Illustrated 2.” The partners will also collaborate on daily programming development, coverage of global sporting events and expansion of worldwide distribution across linear networks, SVOD, OTT, digital, mobile and emerging platforms and technologies. Sports Illustrated/Sports Illustrated 2 in Asia is scheduled for a spring 2016 debut.

The partnership leverages Time Inc.’s access, video, technology, marketing and international expansion initiatives with ASN’s well-established presence and growing popularity in the region. Time Inc. will also provide the infrastructure technology for the networks’ websites and mobile apps that will power the launch and scalability of the initiative, and the two companies will work to cultivate new marketing and advertising sales opportunities.

“This groundbreaking partnership speaks to the power of all our brands — in this case Sports Illustrated — and enables us to build a significant international presence across new platforms,” said Steve Marcopoto, President, Time Inc. International. “Our partners at ASN have built a strong foundation, and together we look forward to creating a differentiated and compelling sports network in the most populous region in the world.”

The new Sports Illustrated/Sports Illustrated 2 networks will feature a heavy mix of event coverage and original video programming from SI Group brands (SI, SI Kids and FanSided) surrounding live — and in some markets, exclusive — broadcasts of many popular sports leagues and events, including the Super Bowl, Stanley Cup finals and March Madness. Popular video franchises such as the award-winning Underdogs series and SI Films will be heavily featured on the network, along with local adaptations featuring powerful stories from the region.

“There is tremendous potential for Sports Illustrated to flourish as a global sports brand,” said Rich Battista, Time Inc. EVP/President Entertainment & Sports Group and Video. “This exciting partnership will see our sports properties heavily integrated in a region of the world where the appetite for premier global sports coverage is exploding and growth opportunities abound.”

ASN debuted in 2008 as the region’s first 24/7 Pan-Asian HD sports network featuring live US sports content. The two English-language channels ASN and ASN2 reach 29MM homes via 20 leading operators in 12 territories, includingHong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. The network has rights deals for the NFL, NHL, NCAA football and basketball, March Madness and NASCAR, among other content partnerships.

“We are very excited to join forces with one of the most revered sports media brands in the world to build a full-fledged TV, web and mobile network,” said Tom Kressner, CEO and Founder of ASN. “We feel that the partnership with Time Inc. is a recognition of our position as the ‘Home of American Sports in Asia.’ In the coming months, we will bring an unparalleled amount of high-caliber sports content to more platforms and in more local languages than ever.”

SI TV is part of a sweeping series of new products and innovations extending the Sports Illustrated brand to millennial sports fans across their preferred platforms and devices. These include the formation of Sports Illustrated Play, a new business devoted to youth and amateur sports; the acquisition of FanSided, a millennials-focused digital sports network of 300+ blogs; the creation of the Sports Illustrated Films production unit, Campus Rush, a new content vertical devoted to the culture and lifestyle of college sports; and Sports Illustrated Overtime, a new branded content studio.

On the new partnership with ASN, Time Inc.’s Chief Technology Officer Colin Bodell said, “The combination of compelling sports content and technology being provided by Time Inc. is enabling a swift launch and establishes the company as a provider of turn-key solutions for new and emerging markets.”

Time Inc. International manages 147 licensing deals in 48 countries or regions, including brands such as InStyle, Fortune and People. Sports Illustrated has licensed local print editions in China (+ web) and India. Golf has licensed print editions and websites in Australia, China, Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan region (print only). Marcopoto, recently appointed to the newly created position of President, Time Inc. International, is expanding Time Inc.’s business portfolio in markets outside the United States through digital, video and TV platforms, partnerships, acquisitions, licensing and off-channel commerce.

HOLOTIVE Global to Launch Southeast Asia’s First-ever Dedicated Holographic Theatre at Sentosa

leave a comment »

-K-live Sentosa will enable fans to watch virtual concerts of K-Pop superstars any time

SINGAPORE /PRNewswire/ — Southeast Asia’s first dedicated K-pop holographic theatre, K-live Sentosa, was launched in Singapore today. In its inaugural foray outside of South Korea, K-live Sentosa will be located at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) Waterfront.

First introduced in Seoul, South Korea, in 2014, K-live has attracted over 200,000 visitors from around the world. The captivating experience of a high definition virtual concert makes K-live an entertaining digital attraction for visitors.

With its launch in Singapore, K-live Sentosa pays perfect homage to the best of the Korean culture and its cutting-edge digital technologies — by seamlessly combining high-tech holographic content starring popular Korean pop stars such as Wonder Girls, 2PM and GOT7. The Singapore edition has been enhanced through the addition of original traditional and modern dance performances to make for a more holistic experience.

“As much as they’d love to, top K-pop acts are not able to make multiple visits to perform in Singapore within a short period of time. Likewise, fans may also not have the resources to travel to overseas performances. Now, with K-live Sentosa, fans can immerse themselves in a larger-than-life K-Pop experience from their favourite artistes anytime they want,” said Mr Sean Park, Director of K-live Sentosa.

Designed to make visitors feel like they’re attending a real-life concert, the experience is made even more engaging with the use of augmented and virtual reality technologies and a myriad of special effects.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the hologram concert.

“We are thrilled to welcome K-live Sentosa as the latest addition to RWS, located within the vibrant Korean cluster of the finest Korean-themed food and beverage outlets as well as retail concepts at RWS’ Waterfront. With the increasing popularity of the Korean Wave or Hallyu in Singapore, hosting the region’s first dedicated K-pop holograhic theatre makes for a perfect fit as we continue to refresh and expand our diverse offerings at RWS. We are confident that K-live Sentosa’s rich and visually immersive K-pop experience will appeal to new and repeat visitors, in particular, local and foreign fans of Korean culture and entertainment,” said Ms Serena Phua, Vice President, Estate Management,RWS.

To keep visitors and K-pop fans continually engaged, the holographic content for K-live Sentosa will be updated every six months, releasing new virtual songs from the top trending K-Pop artists. Similarly, the live performances will be changed every three months.

K-live Sentosa will offer two types of shows for visitors:

1. Full package with Live Performance

The full package comprises a 10-minute live performance, which includes Flying (Korean Modern Dance) or Ego(Krump), and a 5-minute behind-the-scenes look into the production of a holographic concert.

Ego (Krump)

‘Krump’ is one of the many branches of Hip-Hop. It combines both the dynamic movements of Krump and traditional Korean soul, it is a story of identity diffusion — two souls intertwined in battle to find its genuine soul.

Flying (Korean Modern Dance)

‘Flying’ interprets the sequence of The Black Swan’s longing to be The White Swan. The Black Swan continually attempts to free itself from the darkness and spread its wings freely.

This is followed by the 30-minute Holographic Concert (more details on the concert below).

2. Holographic Concert

This package starts with a 5-minute Jin-do Drum Dance in holographic form, followed by the 5-minute behind-the-scenes look into the production of a holographic concert. Then, it’s what fans have been waiting for — the 30-minute Holographic Concert, with a line-up of today’s hottest K-Pop stars performing their hit singles every day. The show includes top hits like 2PM‘s “Hands Up”, Wonder Girls’ “I Feel You” and “Girls Girls Girls” by GOT7.

Jin-do Drum Dance

This traditional Korean Dance originated from Jin-do, a province in Jeolla-nam-do. It is known for its dynamic drum beat which blends both masculine dynamics and feminine delicateness.

Megaport Launches Megaport.ORG to Support and Advance Internet Communities, Standards and Infrastructure

leave a comment »

BRISBANE, Australia and SAN FRANCISCO  /PRNewswire/ —Megaport, a global leader in SDN-based elastic interconnection, today announced the launch of Megaport.org, an industry and community program that supports the advancement of Internet infrastructure and standards through investment in people and communities.

Denver Maddux, CEO, Megaport
Denver Maddux, CEO, Megaport

Megaport.org sponsors key industry organizations that bring together people, technology, and business and those that promote neutrality and independence. Examples of recent sponsorships include Global Peering Forum, Asia Pacific Internet Exchange Association, Euro-IX, and APRICOT. Future sponsorships will include network operator forums and organizations that invest in Internet development in underserved areas.

Megaport.org has established an advisory council comprised of top, forward-thinking members of the Internet industry. The council will advise Megaport on direction and initiatives to support the Megaport.org mission of fostering community and supporting growth of Internet infrastructure.

Denver Maddux, Chief Executive Officer, Megaport said: “Megaport.org is all about giving back to the communities that made the Internet possible. We’re excited to support organizations and initiatives that foster opportunities for people to learn and grow their capabilities. At the same time, we believe in making investments in the growth of Internet infrastructure in places where that is lacking. All of this improves the foundation of the Internet. Without operator and development communities there would be little service innovation, fewer job opportunities, and, quite frankly, there would be no open Internet as we know it today.”

Christian Koch, Director of Global Interconnection Strategy, Megaport said: “Independent, neutral infrastructure is important to the growth and sustainability of the Internet.  Our entire model is based on this concept. We’re happy to be in a position where we can support initiatives that further neutrality.”

Megaport operates in 54 data centres across thirteen markets in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, and United States and is currently expanding its presence into additional data centres in North America andEurope in key markets including Toronto, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, and Stockholm.

Ferrano Chooses Eastman Tritan (TM) Copolyester for its Blender Products

leave a comment »

-Healthy homemade beverages are easy and safe with bottles and jugs made of Tritan

KINGSPORT, Tenn. /PRNewswire/ — Ferrano, a Singapore-based maker of home appliances, recently launched its compact and versatile BlendExpress personal blender. For convenience, the appliance uses a single bottle to take users straight from blending to drinking. For clarity, durability and safety, its bottles are made of Eastman Tritan copolyester.

The BlendExpress comes with two Tritan bottles (400ml and 600ml), as well as two zip-up insulating sleeves, Tritan flip-cap lids and carrying rings
The BlendExpress comes with two Tritan bottles (400ml and 600ml), as well as two zip-up insulating sleeves, Tritan flip-cap lids and carrying rings

The BlendExpress is Ferrano’s second blender to use Tritan. The 11-in-1 KitchenPro, launched in 2014, also features Tritan in its versatile food processor-blender-grinder-juicer system.

Both blenders are designed for health-conscious people who enjoy preparing nutritious drinks and foods at home.

  • The new BlendExpress lets on-the-go people prepare nutritious single-serve beverages, soups, sauces and marinades. The BlendExpress features a 300-Watt motor, pulse mode and, most importantly, the convenience of using the same bottle for blending and drinking.
  • The KitchenPro is equipped for everything from crushing ice and slicing vegetables to preparing family meals. It features a powerful 1300-Watt motor and 1.5-litre and 3-litre jugs made of Tritan.

Ferrano chose Eastman Tritan copolyester for both blenders due to its outstanding and balanced attributes. Tritan is a BPA-free and safe material that is tough enough to withstand high-speed blending and repeated washing. Unlike glass, which is heavy and fragile, jugs made of Tritan are easier and safer to handle when full, and it does not retain food odors or stains like other polymers.

“While developing our newest product, the BlendExpress personal blender, we needed lightweight bottles and lids tough enough to withstand repeated daily use by our active customers,” said Bela Horvath, vice-president of Ferrano. “So it was an easy decision to work with Eastman once again. We believe that Tritan, with its wide range of health, design and durability benefits, is the material of the future.”

Both products come in three colours: Ferrano red, sparkling black and pearl white. They are sold in Japan, Malaysiaand Singapore. Additional bottles and lids made with Tritan are sold separately — for use with the Ferrano BlendExpress, or even as stand-alone sports bottles.

Australian-founded GCC was already a star performer in its own right, bringing an impressive global footprint and expertise, with offices around the world — including the USA, Canada, the UK, Switzerland, Singapore and Australia.

Since its inception in 2004, GCC has fundamentally changed the lives of 2 million people in 185 countries, improving their health, wellbeing and workplace performance.

This year’s GCC, starting in May, will be the biggest in history; over 370,000 employees from more than 1500 organisations across the globe are expected to participate, said CEO Tom Sermon.

“The coming together of these three industry-leading businesses ensures that we can deliver more comprehensive employee engagement, health and performance solutions to more people in more places than ever before,” Mr Sermon said.

“We’re proud of the life-changing impact that GCC has delivered to employees and businesses over the past 12 years. And we’re thrilled to now be part of Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Group which marks a new chapter in our growth story and commitment to changing even more lives for good.

“Because of GCC’s innovative and entrepreneurial culture, Virgin Pulse is a fantastic fit for us. Just like GCC, ShapeUp is another young, dynamic business so we’re going to make a powerful combination.”

Virgin Pulse is widely recognised for providing an engaging, technology-enabled user-experience that drives employee health and productivity and a positive workplace culture.  Meanwhile, GCC brings a wealth of experience on the global stage, with offices in locations around the world to service its global clientele in 15 languages. Together with ShapeUp, these organizations will be able to deliver best-in-class employee engagement solutions to customers globally.

Sir Richard Branson shares the excitement for GCC and ShapeUp joining the Virgin Pulse family.

“Virgin Pulse is a great example of an organisation that helps companies take care of their employees through innovative technology. I am delighted that Virgin Pulse, GCC and ShapeUp are now joining forces to create an even stronger platform and service. This will ensure our customers can promote health and wellbeing for their people around the world,” Sir Richard Branson said.

Virgin Pulse CEO, Chris Boyce echoed this sentiment, saying, “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome GCC and ShapeUp into the Virgin Pulse family. In addition to bringing together the experience, strengths and momentum of three proven industry leaders, combining our organisations allows us to present an exciting and compelling opportunity to our collective customers and the firepower to aggressively expand into new geographies and markets.”

With more than 30 years of experience between them, Virgin Pulse, ShapeUp and GCC have collectively empowered more than 5 million employees across 6,500 organizations to change their lives, and counting. Together Virgin Pulse, GCC and ShapeUp will be able to take their unique and exciting approach to improving employee engagement, health and performance to an even bigger global audience, helping to change lives around the world.

Mr Sermon added, “What we do changes lives for the better. About SK-II

For more than 35 years, SK-II has touched the lives of millions of women around the world by helping them to “Change Destiny” through the miracle of crystal clear skin and life. The fascinating story behind SK-II began at a sake brewery in Japan, where scientists noticed the elderly workers had wrinkled faces, but extraordinarily soft and youthful-looking hands. These hands were in constant contact with the sake fermentation process. It took years of research for scientists to isolate the miracle ingredient Pitera™, a naturally-derived liquid from the yeast fermentation process. Since then, SK-II with Pitera™ has become a special secret shared by celebrities such as Cate Blanchett and Tang Wei around the world, transforming skin along the five dimensions of texture, radiance, firmness, spot control and wrinkle resilience critical to crystal clarity. A leading skincare brand in 13 markets, SK-II continues to deliver the transformative power of crystal clear skin and life through well-loved products including the Facial Treatment Essence,R.N.A. Power, and Cellumination Aura Essence. For the latest news and in-depth information about SK-II, please visithttp://www.sk-ii.com.
