ChinaCache Works with Chinese Environmental Advocate IPE to Bring Back Blue Sky

leave a comment »

BEIJING /PRNewswire/ — Recently, the issue of environmental protection has sparked heated discussions and reflection. Now is the time for us, who live in Beijing with its 175 polluted days a year, to do something. ChinaCache, a leading total solutions provider of Internet content delivery services in China, has proactively worked with the Public Environment Research Center (IPE), a Chinese environmental advocate and NGO, to bring back blue sky.

When it was announced that the IPE was offering a “pollution map” app, ChinaCache immediately sent its professional team to visit the organization, hoping to make a contribution by solving the technical problems with the company’s network during pollution data collection.

IPE is a research organization committed to improving the environment for the benefit of the public. Since its establishment in June 2006, IPE has collected and released environmental information from the government to the public and developed and run a Chinese pollution map database promoting environmental information disclosure and public participation, calling for the people to protect the environment, looking for the ultimate way to eliminate pollution, and improving the environmental governance mechanism.

After further communication, it emerged that the organization had limited technical personnel, with weak app operation and maintenance capacity. Especially after the pollution documentary “Under the Dome” was broadcast, huge amounts of enthusiastic netizens became aware of and began downloading the “pollution map,” instantly jamming the app’s network and worsening its already weak resources and technology.

Once ChinaCache became aware that IPE was in an urgent need of CDN technical support, the company immediately decided to provide the “pollution map” app with the mobile terminal dedicated network acceleration service – MPlus. MPlus is a mobile Internet solution launched by ChinaCache in 2015 that enables a mobile acceleration solution to efficiently improve its performance by integrating the operator’s rear traffic resources and applying technical means to combine flow pool and mobile acceleration products, effectively solving the big technical network challenges faced by IPE. At present, the service is fully prepared to start.

Environmental governance depends on everyone and the more positive action taken by environmentalists themselves has made more people realize that we can make a difference together. These positive actions and calls for change will lead to a new round of legislative improvements and public policy adjustment, and in turn a complete overhaul in pollution prevention measures both from the behavior of individual citizens and that of larger enterprises.

ChinaCache, a company full of enterprise and social responsibility, has always pledged its contribution to society. From actively participating in various domestic large-scale disaster relief activities, to “Angle Home” public welfare activities and active support for pollution management, ChinaCache believes that a little effort can go a long way towards realizing a green future with beautiful homes, healthy growth of the next generation, and sustainable development of the ecological environment.

leave a comment »

DUBLIN, Ireland and YANGON, Myanmar, /PRNewswire/ — CR2 are pleased to announce that Ayeyarwady Bank (AYA Bank) has selected BankWorld, CR2’s self-service integrated platform to manage their entire distribution network of ATMs, online banking and POS channels.

With a banking penetration level of 5%, Myanmar is currently experiencing an accelerated economic transformation with the emergence of new players and financial reforms. Since its creation in 2010, AYA Bank has quickly gained the second place in Myanmar’s banking landscape with over 90 branches, 200 ATMs and a growing number of deposits, which demonstrates public confidence towards the bank. AYA Bank is now looking to take the lead by transforming their banking offering and providing the best reach and customer experience in the market.

After going through a stringent selection process, CR2’s BankWorld was chosen to drive the Bank’s transformation towards a digital and omnichannel banking environment.

The selection of BankWorld was a straightforward decision for a number of reasons:

-BankWorld is a truly omnichannel solution enabling the unification of self-service channels, thus managing service delivery and client interaction across all electronic channels from a single point.

-The platform harnesses data to facilitate the definition of customer segments, ensuring every individual is treated to a personalised banking experience offering the right product at the right time.

-BankWorld can empower bank staff to take control of their self-service channels, allowing them to launch new products quickly, and to change branding without relying on 3rd party vendors.

-The platform has a robust integration track record having been implemented over 65 major core banking or proprietary systems globally.

Beyond online banking and POS, AYA Bank was eager to differentiate itself from its competitors through a remarkable ATM offering. CR2 has empowered the bank to do so with its BankWorld ATM product. Extended remote management tools, monitoring systems, segmentation, campaign creation and a host of advanced features will support AYA Bank to set the ATM standard in Myanmar.

Mike Brady, COO, CR2 commented “We welcome AYA Bank as our first customer in Myanmar. This announcement follows other recent successful selections of BankWorld globally, which can be accounted for by the growing priority of banks to shift towards a digital & omnichannel focused approach, while maintaining innovation. This is something which is truly in the fabric of our product portfolio and ethos.”

BTCGaw Is Buying Bitcoin Above Market Price!

leave a comment »

MILFORD, Del., /PRNewswire/ — BTCGaw Inc. ( ), Delaware based cryptocurrency trader announced today that it has put a “can’t say no to” offer on the table for Bitcoin sellers, as it’s revealing its new cryptocurrency investment policy and appetite. The company has launched a market break-through offer on Bitcoin trade, sustaining a buying rate which is 11% higher than Blockchain’s official rate.

Video –

The company has developed a sophisticated payment platform, offering instant payment services towards its customers. While having also developed partnerships with many international banks, BTCGaw is able to provide online automatic and instant payment, via its web-site platform, for bank transfer and Paypal payments, conditioned that the customers correctly provide their payment details.

The offer has been promoted with no time-frame, although the company explained that, according to its policy and the capacities targeted, it is likely that the offer will be just dropped, with no prior notice, the moment when sales target is reached.

BTCGaw Inc. was founded in July 2014 by former banking professional Tony Gaw, who has seen the opportunity and future financial market development going on the way of technology, while cryptocurrency will flourish. “It will eventually go mainstream within the financial system and we’re not very far from that point, it’s only a matter of few years,” declared Tony Gaw, the company’s CEO.

The company has started as a moderate cryptocurrency buyer and investor, having seen great business opportunity in the emergence of alternative currency markets but with no means of putting uncertainty risk at the core of its business development, up until now.

BTCGaw has on-going negotiations for becoming the first Bitcoin exchange house serving a couple of major consumer goods online vendors who are now turning their faces and policies towards Bitcoin acceptance. Along with those, discussions are getting close to signing with an important online Casino, also willing to implement Bitcoin use for its services.

In this pursuit BTCGaw has developed a purchase strategy aiming to pool all the sellers who want to benefit from the company’s latest offer and who are willing to sell their Bitcoin for the best deal available on the market.

All the details related to the company’s offer and other information, together with the contact details of the Sales Team are available on their website:

iXBlue Expands DELPH 3.1 Seabed Mapping Software Suite, Adding DELPH SAS (Synthetic Aperture Sonar processing) Module

leave a comment »

— DELPH SAS software delivers efficient and cost-effective solution for combined long-range and high-resolution seafloor mapping

MARLY-LE-ROI, France, /PRNewswire/ — iXBlue, a global leader in navigation, positioning and imaging solutions, has released the new synthetic aperture sonar (SAS) processing software module, a new addition to iXBlue’s proven DELPH 3.1 seabed mapping software suite. DELPH SAS leverages company’s extensive experience in sonar signal processing and associated seabed mapping solution software. DELPH 3.1 software suite now comprises of DELPH SAS, Seismic, Sonar, and Magnetic components, built on a modular common architecture with acquisition, processing, and interpretation layers.

Photo –

Today All SAS sonars require dedicated processing software to deal with the amount of collected data and its format. However, what exists today hardly meets the requirements of the survey industry to standardise the processing and interpretation tasks for geophysical data. This is why iXBlue developed DELPH SAS, the addition of this new module is key as it fully integrates Synthetic Aperture Sonar imaging into an industry proven seabed processing software suite.

DELPH is an industry leading software suite providing the best productivity in a user-friendly environment thanks to a highly optimized workflow. Appreciated by major survey companies it now allows the full integration of SAS data together with conventional  side-scan  sonar,  bathymetry,  sub-bottom  profiling,  magnetic  and  other  information  layers.  In addition, all existing features available in DELPH Sonar Interpretation like batch data processing and mosaicking, target picking and management, interpretation and seabed classification are now also available for SAS imagery.

DELPH SAS processing goes further than regular processing as it tightly couples sonar and positioning data, thus naturally producing accurately geo-referenced images, with a very robust algorithm not sensible to vehicle movements. Several benefits come to play in improving data interpretation like the near perfect line matching and the minimal positioning ambiguity which helps in targeting accuracy.

Many advantages come with this new module. Firstly, multi-ping integration in SAS processing results in superior image quality, resolution and range. Secondly, DELPH SAS can also integrate co-registered gap-filler images of the seabed at nadir allowing full-swath sonar coverage. Additionally, the need for overlapping survey lines is reduced therefore further optimisation in survey planning is possible and duplicate data management is limited, thus saving time and money. Finally, as data processing and mosaicking are faster than real-time, online data interpretation is even made possible.

DELPH SAS software complements iXBlue’s offer in scalable SAS tow-fish and AUV solutions for the commercial and scientific survey needs. DELPH SAS runs on any standard computer and is compatible with any SAS that delivers raw data.

Leading business students looking worldwide for job opportunities amid concern about global economic instability

leave a comment »

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates/PRNewswire/ — In a KPMG survey of over 300 business students from leading universities and business schools in 27 different countries, conducted in conjunction with the KPMG International Case Competition (KICC), 89 percent of students said they were prepared to move countries regularly for the right job, demonstrating that today’s business students are coming into the workforce with a global mindset.

Photo –

A majority of leading business students (60 percent) are worried that another Global Financial Crisis would significantly impact their career prospects when they enter the workforce. Just under half (46%) of those surveyed also think that current global instability will make it harder for them to find a job once they finish their studies.

The KPMG survey sought to understand the expectations and drivers of today’s leading business students tomorrow’s business leaders. In addition to the students’ concerns about global instability, and a clear willingness to travel for the right job, they were also very clear that they are looking for rewards from their career that go beyond pay and benefits. The vast majority of students (89 percent) said it was important that the work they do in the future ‘drives positive and sustainable change in society’. An even greater majority (92 percent) said it was important that the organization they work for contributes to a better world. A further sign that today’s top talent is taking a much broader view when deciding which organization to work for.

Sixty seven percent of the students said they had a clear idea of which profession they wanted to work in once they finish their studies. The most popular choices of the business-focused students were ‘finance’ (44 percent) and ‘professional services’ (23 percent). Despite only ten percent selecting ‘technology’ as their chosen profession, 66 percent said they thought that this industry would be the most successful over the next 20 years.

Rachel Campbell, Global Head of People, KPMG International said: “The survey results echo my own experience talking to top graduate talent. This generation understands that the global economic outlook remains challenging and is looking globally for the right career opportunities to match their ambition and abilities. These graduates won’t be happy being tied to one role or one country for their entire career, and many could go on to have two or three different careers  any organization that can genuinely offer multiple careers in many different countries has an opportunity to differentiate itself. This makes it very important that business offers mobility as well as a variety of career paths.”

Only 23 percent of students thought it was ‘somewhat likely’ or ‘very likely’ that they would work for the same company for their entire career, with 27 percent thinking it was ‘not likely at all’. Nearly all of the students (94 percent) felt that having an extensive global network was an important part of building a good career.

Iain McLaughlin, Head of Global Talent, KPMG International said: “Competition for top talent is intensifying across all sectors; it has never been more important for employers to understand what graduates are looking for. While students may have a clear idea of the profession they want to work in, they are also prepared to be very analytical in choosing the right organization for them and will not be afraid to move firms or even geography to find the right opportunity.”

The KPMG International Case Competition (KICC) final is taking place this week in Dubai. Teams of four students from 28 countries are competing in challenges to review and develop solutions to a number of business case studies. Run over the course of four days, teams will be judged by a panel of senior KPMG Partners. This year, the event is being held in association with Emirates, headquartered in Dubai and one of the most dynamic and innovative airlines in the world.

About Lonafarnib
Lonafarnib is a well-characterized, late stage, orally active agent targeting farnesyltransferase, an enzyme involved in modification of proteins through a process called prenylation. HDV uses this host cellular process inside liver cells to complete a key step in its life cycle. Lonafarnib inhibits the prenylation step of HDV replication inside liver cells and blocks the ability of the virus to multiply. Since prenylation is carried out by a host enzyme there is also a theoretical higher barrier to develop viral resistance mutations with lonafarnib therapy.

Lonafarnib is an investigational product and its safety and efficacy have not yet been established for any indication.

About HDV
Hepatitis Delta is caused by infection with the hepatitis D virus (HDV) and is considered to be the most severe form of viral hepatitis in humans. Hepatitis D occurs only as a co-infection in individuals with hepatitis B (HBV), leads to more severe liver disease than HBV alone, and is associated with accelerated liver fibrosis, liver cancer, and liver failure. HDV is a disease with a significant impact on global health affecting ~15 million people worldwide. The prevalence of HDV varies between different parts of the world. Globally, HDV infection is reported to be 5-6% of chronic hepatitis B carriers. Lonafarnib has been granted the Orphan Drug Designation by the US FDA and the European Medicines Agency (EMA). In some parts of the world, including certain areas of China,Russia, Central Asia, Turkey, Africa, and South America, prevalence as high as 40% has been reported in HBV infected patients.

About Eiger
Eiger is a privately held biotechnology company focused on the research, development and commercialization of innovative therapies in viral hepatitis. The company is focused on developing lonafarnib for the treatment of Hepatitis Delta Virus (HDV), the most severe form of viral hepatitis. Lonafarnib is not approved for any indication. Eiger’s research programs are focused on the discovery of targeted, small-molecule therapeutics and biomarkers to treat and monitor serious liver diseases.
