With the largest LCD touchscreen, the Fluke TiX series takes Infrared Cameras to a whole new level
-TiX560 and TiX520 Infrared Cameras offer a full 180-degree articulating lens and premium in-field viewing with the only 5.7 inch responsive LCD touchscreen in its class*
EVERETT, Wash., March 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Sometimes the infrared images you need to capture are the ones that are almost impossible to take. With a full 180-degree articulating lens and 5.7 inch touchscreen, the new Fluke® TiX560 and TiX520 Infrared Cameras allow thermographers to easily navigate over, under, and around objects to preview and capture images with ease. The cameras are ideal for predictive maintenance, R&D, oil and gas, and utility applications where flexibility and higher resolution are essential.
The TiX560 and TiX520 feature a 5.7 inch responsive LCD touchscreen — the largest in its class with 150 percent more viewing area compared to a 3.5 inch screen. The large screen enables thermographers to quickly identify issues while still in the field as well as easily edit images directly on the camera – eliminating time in the office; time better spent solving the problem.
SuperResolution mode boosts resolution four times so the normal 320 x 240 (76,800 pixel) resolution of the images captured increases, to 640 x 480 (307,200 pixels) revealing even greater detail to better identify problems that might have been missed with lower resolution cameras. Optional telephoto and wide-angle lenses add versatility to meet a wide variety of applications.
Out of focus images may produce inaccurate temperature measurements that can be off by as much as 20 degrees, making it easy to miss potential problems. To ensure consistently in-focus images, the cameras feature LaserSharp® Auto Focus, exclusive to Fluke, which uses a built-in laser distance meter to pinpoint the target, and accurately calculate and display the distance.
The cameras also feature Fluke IR-Fusion® technology with Picture-in-Picture, full visible light, and AutoBlend™ modes for easier identification and reporting of problems. On-board advanced analytics allow users to adjust or enhance images right on the camera without additional software. Also included is Fluke SmartView® software, which provides a suite of advanced tools to view, optimize, annotate, and analyze infrared images, and generate fully customizable professional reports.
Fluke Connect
TiX560 and TiX520 are part of the Fluke Connect™ system (where available) — the world’s largest portfolio of connected tools — which allows technicians to wirelessly transmit measurement data from their test tools to their smart phones and tablets for secure storage on the cloud and universal team access from the field.** Fluke Connect with ShareLive™ video call enables teams to easily share and access infrared inspections on the go and look at trends over time. TechPro2: A brand new look for the specialised training project’s website
LONDON, March 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — CNH Industrial and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) present the new website for their TechPro2 initiative: a brand new look, new contents, and new features dedicated to students, dealers and workshops that are looking for new talent for their businesses.
TechPro2 is a professional training project set up in 2008 as the result of a collaboration between Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and CNH Industrial together with the Salesians of Don Bosco. The programme provides professional vocational training for young people. Its aim is to find, train and place highly qualified personnel in the automotive and commercial vehicles sector, especially within the authorised CNH Industrial and FCA networks. This is also being done with the help of the Salesians of Don Bosco. This initiative has expanded over the years and today counts some 55 vocational training centres around the world, with more than 9,300 students and has provided more than 240 thousand hours of professional training, in eight different languages.
The new website – www.techpro2.com – has a brand new look, contents and functionalities that have been updated so that students, dealers and workshops can all access information in a simple and efficient manner, presenting both new employment opportunities and qualified personnel for businesses. In addition to being able to find all the information concerning the project and its developments in the different areas of the world where it is active, students can also directly contact the schools whose detailed information and training courses are listed on the new site.
Operators in the sector, such as workshops and dealers looking for new and qualified staff, can alternatively get in touch with the schools in order to set up internships or new career paths for those students who are nearing the end of their professional training.
Another important update to this website is that students and professionals have the possibility to fill in an online form through which, a message will automatically be sent both to the schools concerned as well as the respective project managers at CNH Industrial and in FCA. This allows for the progress of the project to be constantly monitored. As such, the TechPro2 initiative fulfils its two objectives: to guide young people from disadvantaged backgrounds that are looking for concrete job opportunities into the labour market, as well as to meet the needs of specialised operators for the various FCA and CNH Industrial authorised dealerships and workshops.

Communications Minister To Open Datacenter and Cloud Conference in Iskandar
LONDON, March 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — As investment agencies worldwide turn their attention to promoting the benefits of their locations for building datacenters or outsourcing, a new player in south-east Asia — Iskandar — is beginning to consolidate its position in this increasingly competitive arena.
Next month, government, businesses and international experts will gather in Johor for a regional enterprise datacenter conference (www.datacloudasia.com) and Datuk Ismailbin Ibrahim, CEO of the Iskandar Regional Development Authority will make its claim as the next big datacenter opportunity for the expanding sector in south-east Asia.

In support of its vision, the conference will hear from representatives of operating companies to discuss datacenter deployments, fiber connectivity, the critical issue of energy supply and from the government agency MDeC responsible for driving inward investment in the tech sector.

Datuk Ismail Bin Ibrahim, CEO, Iskandar Regional Development Authority, Iskandar Regional Development Authority will also present the vision for the region.
“The event is important not only to Malaysia but also to the South East Asia region as Iskandar increasingly takes a position as an alternative hub for hosting and colocation. “This is a much needed opportunity for datacenter businesses and investors in south-east Asia to assess opportunities outside of Singapore, so far the dominant market in the region,” commented Steve Wallage, Managing Director, BroadGroup Consulting and chairman of the conference. “Growth in the datacenter sector has been sustained globally and our forecasts suggest tremendous expansion in south-east Asia in the coming years.Johor’s proximity to Singapore and the availability of land certainly presents a powerful proposition.”

Hamburg is Germany’s Nominee for the 2024 Olympic Games
HAMBURG, Germany, March 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Today the General Assembly of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) has voted in favour of Hamburg as the official German nominee for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The north German city of Hamburg prevailed over Berlin and aims to present games with short distances, on the water and in the heart of Europe’s second largest port.
Hamburg’s First Mayor Olaf Scholz comments: “It would be excellent for Germany to host the Olympics for the first time since 1972. Not only the German sports sector, but also Germany as a whole would greatly benefit from hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games. It would be a great honour for us to welcome the world to Hamburg.”
The concept is sustainable and compact: An industrial-site in the port will be converted into the “Olympic City”, including the Olympic Village and the Olympic Park. The new quarter is situated only one kilometre from the city centre and will be changed into an inner city residential area after the Olympics. The Olympic Hall will be transformed into a cruise terminal and the Olympic Stadium will be largely retained for subsequent use. Moreover, the Hamburg Olympics will be climate-neutral, as energy demand and transport policies will focus on CO2 neutrality. The majority of competition venues will be within easy reach within a radius of 10 kilometres, perfect for using bikes. For Hamburg, the Olympic Games are a prime urban development project for the future, connecting the city center with suburbs south of the river Elbe.
In 2024, Hamburg aims to host games that are close to the public. During the last weeks Hamburg’s locals showcased their support and enthusiasm for the Olympics with more than 100 events held across the city. To support the decision, the DOSB conducted a representative survey in the applicant cities: 64 percent in Hamburg voted in favour of the games. The final decision will be taken by the citizens in autumn with a referendum on the official application.
