Noggin IT Partners with InterCall to Market Integrated Enterprise Resilience Solution throughout Asia Pacific

SINGAPORE, Feb. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Noggin IT, the emerging leader in next-generation cloud-based software for enterprise incident management, announces a technology and business partnership with InterCall, a subsidiary of West Corporation and the world’s largest conferencing and collaboration services provider, to provide an enterprise resilience solution for the Asia Pacific region. InterCall has over 100 direct sales consultants in Asia Pacific who will be taking the Enterprise Resilience solution powered by Noggin OCA to market. Industry Expert Speakers at APLF’s 30th Anniversary

HONG KONG, Feb. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — APLF, the organisers of Materials, Manufacturing and Technology (MM&T), announce their programme of conferences and workshops at the upcoming MM&T to be held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. To celebrate APLF’s 30th anniversary, a special programme is planned this year that consists of industry leaders and experts who will discuss the latest hot topics in the leather and fashion industry.

The conference programme started even before the exhibition with the two rounds of webinars on the topic of “The role of leather in a fast changing world” by Ronald Sauer, publisher of the Sauer report and Mike Redwood, leather industry expert and spokesperson for “LeatherNaturally!” These webinars are co-organised by APLF and Leather International.

On the first day of the fair, representatives from this year’s focus country, Brazil, will present a series of industry seminars on topics such as environmental sustainability issues, technology trends and process improvements in the leather industry. Also among the speakers is Mauricio Medeiros, a renowned designer who will be speaking on “Design na Pele,” an integrated project between tanneries and designers. WADL Investigates Misconduct Of Local Producer RE: Bowling for Dollars

WADL wishes to thank Fox 2 News and Rob Wolchek for prompting an investigation.
An internal investigation was done by Richard Mazzari, retired FBI agent who works for Mr. Adell, who found many conflicts regarding “Bowling for Dollars”; a remake of the original program aired briefly on WADL.

Of this amount, $18.2M has come from the Government of Quebec and $31M has come from private investments linked to the biopharmaceutical sector. “We are very proud at the Montreal Heart Institute Research Centre to have succeeded in attracting to this research program such key stakeholders as the Quebec Government, Universite de Montreal, and the world’s most innovative pharmaceutical companies, so that our patients and all Quebecers may benefit from the fruits of this important research,” added Dr. Tardif. ARTERIA will also lead to the creation of 150 new direct, high-skilled jobs.
On-hand at the announcement, the program’s main private partners were eager to praise the MHI Research Centre’s initiative in establishing this innovative project. In so doing, they attested to the Institute’s indisputable leadership on the world stage.
“Through our collaboration, we will be able to combine the MHI’s worldwide network of scientific and medical research with our capabilities in translational medicine and clinical development. For this reason, to Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd, the Montreal Heart Institute is unequivocally a world-class Quebec institution,” noted Ronnie Miller, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. Canada.
Frederic Fasano, Canadian CEO of major ARTERIA partner Servier Canada Inc., for his part underscored the long-standing collaboration between the two organizations: “Our collaboration with the Montreal Heart Institute began over 15 years ago. It has been extremely productive in terms of research and innovation, case in point being a medication to treat patients with heart failure which was largely developed within the walls of the Institute. Dr. Guy Breton, Rector of the Universite de Montreal, to which MHI is affiliated, was thrilled about the announcement. “We are very proud of the three Universite de Montreal research teams that received funding as part of this new program. I especially congratulate Dr. Tardif and his team at the Montreal Heart Institute who are set to lead a research program that is innovative from every standpoint. Designers Fyodor Golan Combine Nokia Smartphones to Make a Super Smart Skirt That Changes Around You

LONDON /PRNewswire/ — Nokia has partnered with exciting design duo, Fyodor Golan, for London Fashion Week, to create the world’s first interactive skirt made up of Nokia Lumia 1520 smartphones.
The innovative skirt was designed by the Fashion Fringe winners and created by Kin and uses static pictures captured by the phone, or live feeds on the 80 screens that adorn it – allowing it to change around the wearer and their day.
Images on the screens change colour as the skirt moves, creating a shimmer effect simulating the realistic tactile character of actual fabric. This is achieved through a purpose built app that utilises global positioning, to ensure the shimmer happens in line with the models movement. It is believed that this is the first time a skirt of this kind has been created.
Annie Kearney, Nokia Brand Lab, said: “This unique project is about exploring the possibilities of smart technology and fashion coming together, as well as supporting new talent to create something special using the beautifully designed Nokia Lumia 1520.”
To build the skirt, Kin worked interactively with a combination of software such as Python and C#. Initial drawings were sketched along side Fyodor Golan. The sketches were then developed using engineering tools and rapid prototyping tools such as 3D printing and laser cutting to evolve the initial design.
Of their new collection and working with Nokia, Fyodor said: “This A/W 14 season we toyed with tradition against technology. We believe that you can create almost anything that isn’t influenced by gravity. The colour changes as the skirt moves and the idea of making the screens react to the word around it via photographs and video is something that we do not think has been done before.”
Speaking of their experience creating this skirt, Matt Wade from Kin said: “This is exciting new territory that pushes the boundaries of what is possible in fashion, designing and programming.”
Nokia have a long history of working within fashion, bringing David Bailey and Bruce Weber together to shoot together for the first time in history using the 41 megapixel Nokia Lumia 1020. Smartphones play an increasingly integral role within fashion, and more specifically on the front row of global fashion week shows, with designs online before they hit the end of the runway.
