Promising Mayo Clinic Study Shows Wisconsin Ginseng Helps Reduce Fatigue In Cancer Patients

leave a comment »

WAUSAU, Wis., Aug. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Millions of cancer patients find themselves exhausted completing the most mundane of tasks, and extra sleep doesn’t seem to help. Today, they find hope in a supplement that medical researchers have shown to be effective in boosting their energy levels: Wisconsin Ginseng.

(Photo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20130819/LA66004)

In a collaborative phase III clinical trial, researchers at the North Central Cancer Treatment Group, and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., recently completed an eight-week study to evaluate the impact of Wisconsin Ginseng on the fatigue levels of cancer patients. They divided 364 patients into two groups; one group received a placebo and the other received 2,000 milligrams of Wisconsin Ginseng each day for two months.

At the start of the study, both groups ranked their fatigue, on average, 40 out of 100. After eight weeks, the group who took Wisconsin Ginseng showed improvements in overall energy levels, reported higher vitality levels and less interference with activity due to fatigue. Participants reported a 20-point increase in energy levels, which is statistically significant.*

“Wisconsin Ginseng is well-known in traditional Chinese medicine to help with a variety of ailments, including fatigue,” said Joe Heil, president of the Ginseng Board of Wisconsin. “We are very pleased that Western medicine is now taking notice of the health benefits of Wisconsin Ginseng.”

The Ginseng Board of Wisconsin represents Wisconsin Ginseng producers as the worldwide leader of the American ginseng industry. It is committed to the advertising, promotion and the sale of Wisconsin Ginseng, the purest ginseng in the world. For more information about Wisconsin Ginseng, visit www.ginsengboard.com. To be assured of purchasing genuine Wisconsin Ginseng, look for the Wisconsin Ginseng Seal.

*Results of taking Wisconsin Ginseng capsules may vary. Please note these findings were realized through a controlled study. Dietary supplement products are not regulated in the same way as prescription drugs. Ginseng available in stores may be very different than Ginseng used in this study. It is extremely important for people to be informed when purchasing over the counter products. There are many on line resources to help people become informed about dietary supplements, one is the website for the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine at the National Institutes of Health.

Skimlinks rewrite feature will keep publishers from being affected by iTunes affiliate migration

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Skimlinks today announced that it will automatically rewrite old iTunes affiliate links to their new affiliate format, so that publishers won’t be affected as iTunes takes their affiliate program in-house. This feature will be built into the pre-existing Skimlinks’ javascript and APIs so current publishers do not need to do any additional work.

(Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20111026/SF93683LOGO-c)

iTunes recently announced that they will be taking their affiliate program in-house via PHG’s platform starting October 1st for publishers in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. Publishers in these areas will be left with broken links, unless they sign up for the new iTunes affiliate program and manually change all of their old links, or use Skimlinks. iTunes is continuing to use TradeDoubler to track affiliated downloads for publishers in Europe and South America.

Publishers who do not use Skimlinks will need to set up a new affiliate account with Apple and update all of their existing links by October 1st in order to continue earning commissions. Publishers who are not currently Skimlinks users can sign up for Skimlinks to immediately take advantage of the rewrite feature.

This is a similar feature to what Skimlinks recently released to help publishers affected by the closure of the Google Affiliate Network.

“Skimlinks publishers have come to rely on us for an exceptional affiliate experience, and so we take it on ourselves to innovate, building products and tools that make their lives easier,” said Jen Langdon, VP of Engineering at Skimlinks. “As the leader in the space, we proactively build solutions that ensure publishers don’t miss out on revenue.”

About Skimlinks: Founded in 2007, Skimlinks is the leading content monetization platform that rewards publishers for the role their content plays in creating purchase intent. Skimlinks processes 300 million clicks a month on over 140,000 sites around the web, including Conde Nast, Gawker, AOL Europe, WordPress, Hearst Digital, Haymarket Consumer Media, Telegraph Media Group, and many more. Skimlinks is a team of 55 with offices in London, San Francisco, and New York.

Since 2010, the group has provided all guests with complimentary unlimited access to Internet in all its hotels as part of its service promise and guest experience.

“We are proud to be one of the trailblazers from 2010 providing free Internet to all guests while many hotels continue to charge for Internet usage. Whether you are a Club Carlson(SM) member, a new or returning guest staying at Carlson Rezidor’s hotels in Asia Pacific, you will get to enjoy free Internet access and connectivity throughout the hotels, and not just limited to the lobby and common areas, making this one of its most celebrated brand hallmarks. Be it for business or leisure, you will be able to stay connected throughout your stay.

Enhancing the guest experience remains a top priority and Carlson Rezidor’s hotels are on a quest to be innovative — Radisson Blu Plaza Hyderabad Banjara Hills is the first hotel in the group to introduce free Internet in their hotel cars, providing access for travelers in transit.
