Panerai Opens Exclusive Exhibition in Honour of 10th Anniversary of LANDMARK PRINCE’S Boutique

HONG KONG/PRNewswire/ — Fine Italian watchmaker Officine Panerai celebrates a decade of success for its LANDMARK PRINCE’S Boutique in Hong Kong on October 3 with the opening of a week-long exclusive exhibition of iconic Panerai timepieces from the past 10 years. The Panerai LANDMARK PRINCE’S Boutique was the brand’s first boutique in Asia when it opened in 2002 and was the second worldwide after the historic Panerai boutique in Florence, Italy.

10th Anniversary of LANDMARK PRINCE’S Boutique Exhibition
The exhibition, which will be opened to the public at the Landmark Atrium in Central until October 9, was unveiled to a selection of VIPs, business partners and media from the Asia Pacific Region with a cocktail, followed by a private dinner at 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo Bombana under the ministrations of the celebrity chef Umberto Bombana, the only Italian 3 Michelin Stars Chef outside Italy and a veritable ambassador of Italian taste and culture worldwide.
The display of 48 exclusive timepieces was made possible by the generosity of private collectors who selflessly shared their prized timepieces for the exhibition, thereby presenting a rare and exclusive opportunity for visitors to admire these remarkable pieces of innovation under one roof in Hong Kong.
Visitors who stepped within the three-sided semi-transparent walls surrounding the central booth innovatively shaped like a Luminor case were immediately transported to Panerai’s world of Italian heritage and design. The top of the booth shows the iconic simple Luminor dial with Super-LumiNova® effects on the hour indices.
The 48 iconic timepieces are housed within two double-sided showcases divided into four different zones located at each linear hour index. The outer faces of all 8 showcases are also lit by the glow of Super-LumiNova® effects. The four zones reflect the brand’s fundamental values, the authenticity, exclusivity and rarity of its products and the brand’s outstanding identity that embodies a unique mix of classic Italian design and innovative Swiss technology and craftsmanship.
Zone A — History enables visitors to step into Officine Panerai’s rich Italian heritage with 12 vintage pieces including the Radiomir – 47mm (PAM00021) and the Mare Nostrum – 52mm (PAM00300).
The Radiomir — 47mm was Panerai’s first special edition timepiece after the brand’s acquisition by the Richemont group in 1997. The timepiece was a re-edition of the first Radiomir produced in 1938 and was the first to carry the Radiomir name. Introduced in 2010, the Mare Nostrum — 52mm was a special re-edit of the chronograph that had originally been designed as a deck officer’s watch for the Italian Navy in 1943.
Zone B — Exclusivity celebrates some of the most exclusive pieces in the past decade and includes the Luminor Marina Militare — 47mm (PAM00217) and the rare Luminor Marina — 44mm (PAM00412) among the exhibited 18 timepieces.
The Luminor Marina Militare — 47mm (PAM00217) is the first Panerai left-handed timepiece with a Luminor 1950 case, a special edition highly sought after by collectors. Also, the Luminor Marina – 44mm (PAM00412) is a boutique special edition created for and only available in Panerai’s Hong Kong boutiques. The caseback is personalized with the intricate engraving of the Hong Kong skyline featuring the Bank of China Tower in the foreground.
Zone C — Technicality pays tribute to Panerai’s sophisticated movements with 9 technical timepieces that include the Luminor Submersible 1950 Amagnetic 3 Days Automatic Titanio — 47mm (PAM00389) as well as the L’Astronomo — Luminor 1950 Equation of Time Tourbillon Oro Bianco — 50mm (PAM0036502).
Part of the Contemporary Collection, the Luminor Submersible 1950 Amagnetic 3 Days Automatic Titanio (PAM00389) is powered by the in-house automatic P.9000 calibre and is the latest novelty of the Italian brand, presented for the first time in the Asia Pacific Region. The special construction of the titanium case makes it remarkably resistant to magnetic fields and the case was inspired by the models made by the Panerai for the Egyptian navy in the 1950s. The L’Astronomo (PAM0036502) is the most complicated wristwatch ever created by Panerai. Fitted with the in-house hand-wound mechanical P.2005/G movement, the watch was created as a tribute to Galileo Galilei and features the Tourbillon function, tailor made with a sky chart, sunrise and sunset indicators and equation of time.
Zone D — Innovation features groundbreaking developments in special materials exemplified by 9 models, including the Radiomir Composite Marina Militare 8 Giorni — 47mm (PAM00339) and the Radiomir 8 Days GMT Oro Rosso — 45mm (PAM00395).
The Panerai Composite is formed through a complex process of plasma micro-arcs ceramisation that results in a unique material that guarantees comfort, great aesthetics, lightness and resistance to knocks, scratches and high temperatures. The Red Gold for the casing of the PAM00395 was only introduced by Panerai in 2012 and is the 5NPt, a special alloy that holds an unusually high percentage of copper and platinum, thus giving it both depth of color as well as preventing oxidation.
The last highlight of the exhibition is the special display of the creation of the Radiomir case in Ceramic, which had previously been displayed at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2012 earlier this year, to reveal once again the Panerai commitment to research innovative and performing new materials.
To date, Panerai has 46 of boutiques around the world, 17 of which are in the Asia Pacific region.
The exhibition, which is exclusive only to Hong Kong, is open to the public from 11:00 to 22:00 daily until October 9th, 2012.

The Nation’s First Comprehensive B2B Travel and Tourism Event to be held in June 2013 in Bali
HONG KONG /PRNewswire/ — Over the past twenty years SATTE exhibition and conference, acquired by UBM plc on behalf of UBM Asia in 2011, has steadily grown to become the leading B2B travel event in India and a highly respected brand across the industry. Starting next year SATTE will expand its influence even further with the launch of the first SATTE Indonesia event that will be held in Bali from 12-14 June 2013. Boasting good accessibility and connections with major cities around the world, great infrastructure and a reputation as tourists’ paradise, Bali promises to be an excellent host venue for this prestigious travel mart.
Indonesia is one of the fastest growing markets for travel and tourism in the world. The launch of SATTE Indonesia recognises the growing importance of Indonesia as a B2B travel and tourism destination and promises to be a must-attend event for buyers and sellers from Indonesia and around the globe. It will be the first comprehensive B2B travel mart of international importance to be held in Indonesia since PATA 2007 and ATF.
Indonesia’s economy is growing at over 6% and air travel in the country is increasing by 16%. Domestic tourist traffic is rapidly expanding with an estimated 245 million domestic travels in 2012 and USD18 billion total in expenditure. The country is also expected to achieve its target of 10 million in-bound tourists by 2014. Against this background, SATTE Indonesia offers an unparalleled strategic platform for overseas destinations and travel and tourism suppliers to tap into the Indonesia market.
Christopher Eve, Senior Vice President of UBM Asia Ltd commented:
“The growth of Indonesia’s economic importance in the Southeast Asian region and around the world means that there are huge opportunities for both inbound and outbound travel and tourism operators and suppliers. On the inbound side, Indonesia’s rich diversity of exquisite tourism offerings, as well as its rapidly increasing business travel, offer huge potential. Meanwhile, Indonesia’s vast population and burgeoning middle classes mean that there are enormous opportunities for outbound and domestic travel.”
SATTE Indonesia 2013 intends to establish a new benchmark for travel and tourism events in Indonesia. It will do so by serving the inbound, outbound and the domestic markets and bringing together over 300 domestic and international sellers representing the top hospitality and travel brands with more than 250 domestic and international qualified buyers representing the top multinational and unique leisure brands across the globe. By bringing buyers and suppliers together in a single forum, SATTE Indonesia aims to advance the tourism industry through business sessions and the promotion of best practices in MICE and leisure management. Together with exhibitors and buyers from 33 Indonesian states and numerous countries around the world, SATTE Indonesia will facilitate pre-scheduled appointments and business sessions for buyers and sellers to negotiate on their long term leisure and corporate travel needs.
Mr. Panca R Sarungu, CEO of RajaMICE remarked:
“By bringing SATTE to Indonesia in 2013, we hope to support government introducing the world to Indonesia and Indonesia to the world. Organised by UBM, SATTE is proven to be a successful B2B travel trade brand. Last year the original SATTE event, SATTE India, attracted 33 countries and 6,249 unique qualified buyers and sellers. We hope that SATTE Indonesia will take the tourism industry of both countries to the next level.”
Corporations, travel agents, resort and hotel chains, cruise operators, convention planners, venue operators and travel buyers can leverage the three days of business-to-business sessions to enhance their respective brands in the Indonesian and Southeast Asian market. In addition to the B2B sessions, the comprehensive four-day travel mart will have an extensive program of activities for delegates.
Mr. I. B. Lolec, Country Manager for Pacific World Indonesia, based in Bali commented:
“This could be the great international tourism marketplace for Indonesia especially Bali which will be ready with more rooms and better infrastructure in 2013, in particular the new airport. This event would be absolutely great if SATTE Indonesia can bring quality overseas buyers.”
Mr. Asnawi Bahar, President of the Indonesian Association of Tour and Travel Agencies (ASITA) remarked:
“I congratulate RajaMICE and UBM for this great collaboration, our members with a total of 7,000 travel agencies all over Indonesia should be able to become actively involved at SATTE Indonesia 2013.”

As a result, Intelligent Energy’s non-executive team now has an outstanding breadth of expertise and deep experience in each of the company’s main markets of motive, stationary power and consumer electronics.

Henri Winand, Chief Executive Officer of Intelligent Energy, said: “We are delighted that someone of Paul Heiden’s calibre and experience is joining the company. His outstanding track record in both executive and non-executive roles will be invaluable in helping Intelligent Energy to achieve its ambitious plans for the future. I would like to thank John Rennocks, who has chaired the company for the past six years, for the very significant contribution he has made in steering the company through a highly successful period of growth and development.”

Paul Heiden added: “Intelligent Energy is a company with a unique and outstanding technology, an exceptionally talented team and an increasingly global footprint. I look forward to contributing to what promises to be an extremely exciting future.”

At both Rolls-Royce plc and FKI plc, Mr Heiden managed businesses with diverse interests in the global energy and industrial power business sector with substantial aftermarket activities. He also has extensive experience in corporate governance activities including communication with investors in the UK, US and EU.

Mr Heiden is currently a non executive Director of the London Stock Exchange Group plc, United Utilities plc and Meggitt plc. Until recently he was also Chairman of Talaris Topco plc, a company owned by the Carlyle Group.
