We are honored to be selected as the supplier for Jinxin to support its conversion to full oxy-fuel combustion which is a new milestone for the market of pharmaceutical borosilicate glass using coal oven gas. Our work with Jinxin not only enables us to tap into Henan in Central China for our growth in the glass market, but also underscores our commitment to support the sustainable development of China’s glass industry.”

Air Products has also recently signed contracts to supply integrated oxy-fuel solutions to other borosilicate and fiberglass manufacturers in the southern and eastern parts of China. For more information, visit http://www.airproducts.com/industries/GlassMinerals/resource-center.aspx.

Care in the Community and other aspects of Healthcare IT to be discussed by experts at HIMSS AsiaPac12

SINGAPORE, Sept. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Singapore is making significant strides in adopting healthcare IT and translating these advanced capabilities, such as clinical decision support, into regular use among physicians, according to Accenture’s recent eight country study of health technology. The two imperative developments occurring in Singapore are the important growth taking place through mobile use and the more hands-on supervision by patients of their own health. The Intelligent Nation 2015 (iN2015) 10-year master plan that began in 2006 — by the Singapore government to help the country realize its potential for growth through infocomm technologies — was the driving force of the study’s decision.

“Singapore is proving that healthcare IT is an important means of driving effectiveness and efficiency across care delivery,” said Matthew Bates, who leads Accenture’s global solution development for healthcare analytics. “According to Accenture’s Singapore physician survey, roughly one-third of Singapore physicians reported using analytics for improving the quality of care decisions while adopting electronic tools, such as e-billing, to improve efficiency.”

The HIMSS AsiaPac12 Conference and Exhibition will take place on September 18-19 at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.  One of the first sessions at the conference will be presented by Accenture’s Matthew Bates on Harnessing the Power of Health Analytics to Deliver More Effective, Efficient and Affordable Healthcare.” Analytics is quickly becoming a vital health tool helping governments and healthcare providers to confront the challenges posed by ageing, less-fit populations, affected by chronic and more complex disease states.

Another presentation on the same day will involve a discussion on how ‘Integrated Care Improves Treatment of Long-Term Health Conditions’ byMatt Hector-Taylor, founder of HASGlobal Ltd. The discussion will give details on the benefits, lessons and challenges of implementing integrated care models enabled by technology that spans primary, secondary and community health providers to manage the care of people with long-term health conditions in New Zealand.

Harvard University Professor, Dr. Steven H. Shaha, will lecture on Improved Homecare Efficiencies Productivity and Outcome thru EHRs.’ He will discuss five case-studies quantifying how EHR innovations provide technology-based foundations for improved care and outcomes, fewer emergency visits and readmissions, and reduced costs. The day will finish with a session on Activating Patients with Chronic Disease to Take Care of Themselves’ by Healthcare IT Consultants, Manish Shyam NachnaniandLalit Singla from India.

The second and final day of panels, will begin with a discussion on IT Adoption Maturity Model for Nursing Home and In-patient Hospice in Singapore’. Mr. Henry Kang, Program Manager of Community & Integrated Care at MOH Holdings Pte Ltd, will share the IT adoption maturity model for the nursing homes and inpatient hospice and how this model serves as a guide to help the sectors adopt IT to improve both clinical and business operations processes.

Additional significant and interesting topics covered on this day will include: ‘Who Moved My Doctor?’ – Resetting the Expectations from Integrated Care and IT’ by Dr. Mehdi Khaled, the Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Healthcare & Life Sciences in the Asia Pacific & Japan division, at the Oracle Corporation; ‘Developing an Integrated Display of Health Data for Aging in Place’ by Dr. Yang Gong, Associate Professor at the School of Biomedical Informatics, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Gong will introduce a human-centered design on an integrated health data display facilitating aging-in-place, informing senior residents and health care providers in a timely manner to support decision making; Telemonitoring in Patients with Chronic Heart Failure and Arrhythmias: Disease Management to Improve Outcome and Quality of Life’ presented by Dr. Michael Oeff, Professor and Head of Department at T-Systems Partner Clinic in Germany; Expansion of PPI ePR Registration Preparing the Healthcare System for Future eHR Migration’ by Dr. Choy Khai Meng, Consultant at Food and Health Bureau, the Government of HKSAR & Chief Manager, Cluster Services Division at The Hospital Authority, HKSAR and Victor Sai-Yen Chan, Executive Officer of eHR Engagement Initiate (EEI) Team at The Hospital Authority, HKSAR; and, ‘Building Disease Registries to Deliver Chronic Care in Singapore’ by Dr. Matthias Toh, Consultant, Corporate Development at National Healthcare Group in Singapore. Dr. Toh will describe the journey to conceptualize and build registries for chronic care in the National Healthcare Group (NHG) and the importance of health technology and analytics to support care delivery timely and efficiently.

Apart from symposiums and talks, the HIMSS Asia Pac12 Conference and Exhibit will showcase hundreds of products and services for healthcare IT needs. Attendees will experience live demonstrations, technology updates, new products and services in the healthcare IT industry.

The conference and exhibition, which is organized by HIMSS Asia Pacific, is the seventh edition in the region.
