Armour Works International Ltd Comes Onboard Armoured Vehicles Asia 2012

SINGAPORE, July 25, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ — Defence IQ, a division of IQPC, announced that Armour Works International Ltd would be coming onboard as a sponsor at its annual Armoured Vehicles Asia 2012 conference in Singapore this year. An international leading solution provider on robust integrated survivability products for armoured vehicles, ArmourWorks looks set to capture a significant share of the increasingly growing Asian market for armoured vehicles.

This move to participate at the 4th Annual Armoured Vehicles Asia 2012 conference comes shortly after the confirmation of another senior-ranking military speaker at the event. Major General Changez D Khan, Director General of the Armoured Corps of the Pakistan Army, will join a host of Asian Commanders and Generals on 26th – 27th September 2012 to discuss the latest challenges and best practices in vehicle survivability, protection, C4ISR and capability development.

Lt. General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commanding General of the Sri Lankan Army, described the upcoming summit as a “great opportunity for both military and industry to come together and discuss the issues pertaining to armoured fleets in Asia”.

Defence IQ recently compiled the must-have, authoritative industry report on the armoured vehicles market in Asia. After extensive research, surveys and interviews with leading military representatives from countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Thailand and the USA, it was found that:

— 83% of army officers thought that protection from small arms ballistic attack is the main design requirement for armoured vehicles
— 55% of end-users thought that survivability is the most important armoured vehicle capability, compared to reliability (26%) and mobility (19%)
— 79% of our respondents believe that APCs will have the greatest demand in Asian over the next 10 years
