The symposium will convene some of the biggest names in corporate real estate to discuss how to leverage the change that surrounds the industry

SINGAPORE, Sept. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ — The Singapore Chapter of CoreNet Global is pleased to announce it will host a one day symposium next month to offer insight on emerging trends, technologies and practices that are shaping the corporate real estate (CRE) sector. Themed, ‘Inspiration in Times of Change’, the event will be held at the Raffles City Convention Center from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday 18th October.

According to CoreNet Global’s Singapore Chapter Chair Mr. James Tan, there is a convergence of trends which are creating complex issues that are impacting the world of commercial real estate and the ability of corporate property managers to deliver workplace facilities that are functional, cost effective and efficient.

“Change in our industry is inevitable and as corporate property managers, we have a responsibility to find out how it will affect our organizations,” says Mr. Tan. “The goal of this event is to explore and better understand the major changes and trends affecting CRE and the challenges and opportunities they present to our profession.”

With a focus on current challenges and market opportunities, Mr. Tan confirms that the day-long symposium will include informative presentations and stimulating panel debates, including the sharing of knowledge and ideas by the following panelists and speakers:

    Singapore – What’s Next?
Dr. Yang Liang Chua, National Director and Head of Research, Jones Lang LaSalle

To close the symposium, there will also be a special guest presentation by the NATAS Singapore Women’s Everest Team who on May 20, 2009 made history by becoming the country’s first all-female team to reach the summit of Mount Everest.

“As is clear from our agenda, the market is still challenging for all those involved in corporate property management and the workplace environment as new forces, trends, technologies and practices are redefining the nature of work and the delivery of CRE related services.

“However, there are still opportunities for those who are able to adapt and stay ahead of the various influences that are shaping the CRE industry,” concludes Mr. Tan. “Needless to say, our effectiveness at managing change will, ultimately, determine our success.”

To date, CoreNet Global’s Singapore symposium has attracted the support of a number of key sponsors including: Platinum Sponsor Marina Bay Financial Centre; Gold Sponsors Ascendas and Johnson Controls; Silver Sponsor Turner & Townsend; and Business centre Sponsor MTM Solutions.
