Last year, nine teams from across the region took part in the AMRC.

A special feature of last year’s event, saw the introduction of a rule allowing sailors under twenty five in teams from around the world to participate and compete for a berth in competitive sailing’s richest event. The landmark decision was taken by the AMRC to help encourage the development of match racing, by allowing more young sailing talent from around the world the opportunity to race in the Championship.

This year, each participating team will feature five crew members who will sail the Foundation 36 (F-36) boats, the same used in the Monsoon Cup. The winners of the AMRC will have the opportunity to compete with the best international match racers. Tyco Retail Solutions’ Revolutionary Source Tag Recirculation Program Helps Global RetailersImprove Profits and Lay Foundation for RFID Tagging

Over 750 Million Genuine Sensormatic Hard Tags Recirculated Annually

SINGAPORE, July 14, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ –Tyco Retail Solutions (, a leading global provider of retail performance and security solutions sold through ADT and authorized business partners worldwide, today announced the recent success of its revolutionary Source Tag Recirculation program, designed not only to help retailers improve supply chain and selling floor efficiency but also improve profits. With an eye towards sustainability, the initiative embraces green retailing principles by repurposing tags to save valuable time, money and resources. With over 750 million hard tags re-circulated annually, Tyco Retail Solutions is also well positioned to help the retail industry realize the long term benefits of dual-technology (EAS/RFID) source tagging for robust protection and unprecedented end-to-end inventory visibility.

Click here to access a new white paper on the benefits of Source Tag Recirculation.

“Retailers and retail supply chain leaders are looking to achieve higher levels of efficiency and customer satisfaction through sustainable, innovative growth programs,” said Leslie Hand, Research Director for IDC Retail Insights.

Currently embraced by seven top global apparel retailers, Tyco Retail Solutions’ Source Tag Recirculation program is based on over 40 years of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) excellence in retail. Retailers buy only the tags they need, and receive credits promptly when the tags are returned for recirculation – Tyco bears all the hard tag inventory risk. In addition, tagging costs can be built into the garment, not buried in store payroll. With the hard tag recirculation program, merchandise arrives ready to sell, accelerating both sales and inventory turns. For example, a leading global specialty apparel retailer switched from in-store to source tagging, and moved 30% to 50% more merchandise to the sales floor per hour. And when RFID technology joins EAS source tags, retailers will enjoy the added benefits of advanced inventory intelligence from end to end of a secure global supply chain. Having an established EAS recirculation path will be a tremendous advantage as retailers migrate to item level inventory solutions.

Tyco’s hard tag program repurposes tags that are applied at the manufacturing source, and then recirculated from the retail store. Tyco Retail Solutions is the only supplier today with three automated recirculating processing centers globally and eight tag distribution center points, geographically positioned closer to garment manufacturing to help save retailers the cost of freight and other costs associated with purchasing source tags. The Source Tag Recirculation program is an environmentally responsible initiative retailers can easily integrate into existing sustainability programs to underscore a commitment to protecting the environment.

Recirculation reduces many of the direct and indirect costs of an in-store program, including:

Labor savings – fewer payroll hours at the store to apply tags, and a higher percentage of time spent on selling time and customer service.
Less shortage – more tags on more items throughout the store, with 100% compliance and 100% consistency, and no merchandise left untagged in back rooms.
Increased sales – better speed to floor, fewer stockouts on popular items, and store associate time spent selling, not tagging.
Consistency – application in manufacturing environment, for fewer damages and a better appearance.
Lowest tag cost – overall tagging cost is reduced by selling the tag back to Tyco compared to utilizing the tag one time.
“The Tyco Retail Solutions Source Tag Recirculation program puts the infrastructure in place to deliver cost-effective protection today, and unlock the full capabilities of EAS and RFID for robust protection and end-to-end inventory visibility tomorrow,” said Kelvin Lam, VP for Retail and Security Products, ADT Security, Asia Pacific.”As an environmentally conscious organization, we are committed to helping retailers integrate responsible solutions into their global supply chain and are proud to offer an innovative program that not only supports green retailing but also helps our customers reduce labor costs and improve profits.”
